Imagine Something Wondrous 4: Whimsical Tea

Welcome, everyone.  As we shift from January to February, I thought it would be nice if we could just relax together, quietly for a moment.  Maybe we can share a warm, cozy beverage — whatever you like.  The magic teapot has coffee, hot chocolate, Irish coffee, mulled wine, or anything else you want.

I’ve invited a lovely couple in honor of this being the last Caturday of the month.  In a fun side note, I made this image earlier this week for a Night Cafe Daily Challenge, this one being “No Theme Thursday.”  It gave me a big smile that it was voted (by other entrants) in the top 20% of 6,035 entries.

These cats are quite elegant and will only enhance our relaxed mood.  For this moment we can float in a bubble of detachment, safe from the outside world, as we sip our warm drink and enjoy one another’s company.  Just us, the cozy room, soft comfortable furniture, and the quiet.  …And we breathe.

  1. We are on the same wave length. It is so cold here that any hot beverage is wonderful and as for cats, we both love our cats. They add to much to our world. But if mine had opposable thumbs, I’d be in for a whole world of problems!

    1. Haha, ya know! The older they get, the smarter they get, and Daphne (at 3 1/2) already eyes doorknobs with an intensity that tells me she’s figured out how they work, “If only I had thumbs,” she seems to say. I had a gray tabby who was dangerously smart at figuring out things. Anyhow, hugs and purrs.

  2. I like the kitties in costume! When I was a kid one of my favorite little books had pictures of cats wearing clothes and doing human kind of things. And when we had our cats (and dogs) I always made costumes for them to wear for Halloween (just long enough to take their picture = and they didn’t mind at all) So , I do like your imagined scene and the lovely magic teapot. Happy Saturday! ❤

  3. It is a lovely image, dear Teagan, and I’m not surprised it was so well received. I’m not a big drinker of hot drinks, but I’m sure I’d enjoy one there. Have a lovely weekend, big hugs, and love to Daphne and Velma. ♥

    1. Thanks very much, Olga. Admittedly during hot months I can’t deal with hot drinks (except a morning cup of coffee). But they can be so comforting that on some hot days, I’m tempted to crank up the air conditioner so I can enjoy one. LOL. Hugs winging back to you. 🤗

  4. This is beautiful, Teagan. Congratulations on being recognized by your peers on this effort. We had one male cat that might have served tea to the right female.

Saying goodbye to January isn’t going to be very hard. Today is the coldest day that we’ve had this year. It’s early, but I might ask that magic teapot for a splash of Irish Coffee.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend.
