Halloween Game/Creativity Challenge

Hello, everyone.  Could you come out to play? I didn’t intend to do a post today. Then I was suddenly inspired to make this game/challenge.  As an October treat, I’m giving you a game – or creativity challenge. Often the hardest part of writing is the lack of boundaries. So, I’ve made an easy chart for you.

Creativity Challenge: If you want to draw or take a photo, or decorate something, just take any three things from the table below.

Writing challengeWrite as short or long as you want.  It could be a story, song, poem, satiric product review, advertisement – anything you like.

Using the chart below, take the first letter of your name (first name or last name), and use the hero and costume (the hero does not have to wear the costume) in the same row.  Or be a rebel and pick any of the three you choose.  However, you must use a Halloween thing, a hero from the table, and one of the costumes – in any order you choose.

If character names are a holdup, here are some Halloween-ish possibilities: Ichabod, Hepzibah, Zelda, Samantha, Tabatha, Endora, Freddy, Hannibal, Moriarty, Jack, Grendel, Carrie, Barnibas, Mephistopheles, Nick, Jack.

Don’t miss my Halloween novella,
A Peril in the Bayou.

I hope you’ll post whatever you create, and please link back to www.teagansbooks.com. (Since WordPress has been behaving badly, please put a link in a comment or email too. I don’t want to miss what you’ve done.)  I’ll post my own in my next blog.  Thanks for visiting.   Big hugs.

  1. I’ll tuck this away and see what I come across. I have to tell you that last week at trivia I used my Fairy name that you prompted us to find a year or more ago. I got 5 bonus points for that. 🥰
So, we’ll see how long it takes me to use this Halloween challenge.

  2. I have one more post in December before I shut end the blog portion of my site for good. Not enough of me to go around! I will still drop in you people as I can. I am way behind catching up with many people, including you. I will pass on the challenge. I am working on a problem with the old Subaru this weekend and will probably have to get help.

  4. Her name was Venus Flytrap. She was a florist. It was Hallowe’en, and the moon was full. Dressed as a cheerleader, she wandered in to a forest. As the town’s church’s chimes rang midnight, a massive, hairy ivory fanged werewolf confronted her. She ate him.
Eight hours later, she belched bloody hell. Burp of a lifetime!

  5. Great challenge, Teagan. I started to study for a certificate a bit over a month ago, and with the rest of the other things I have going on, I don’t seem to have any spare time at the moment, but I’ll come back to it when I have bit more time. Enjoy the rest of the weekend!

  6. Fun looking challenge. I currently have the challenge of figuring out which photos from the 1163 photos I took of the balloons this morning that I will photos this evening. But that’s not all. There’s a fireworks show at 8 pm.

    1. Haha. I admit that I thought of you when I used Librarian, Pat.
Either/or. If it is only a paragraph or so and you’d rather leave it in a comment, that’s fine. I rather hope that people are inspired enough to use their results in a post of their own, and if they do, I hope they’ll add a link to my blog.
Being creative is the main thing. Hugs.
