Create Changes

Why am I here when I have so much work that really has to be finished today?  I saw something that I couldn’t resist — and this doesn’t take nearly as much time as making an episode of our “Three Ingredients” serial.

Sometimes things change, beyond our control, when they’d be much better left as they were.  At other times we try and try to enact a positive change, but we spin our wheels, getting nowhere.  That’s when the old adages “Be patient” or “It’s not meant to be” grate against the spirit.

When we’re trying to make a change, and despite all dedication, determination, and diligence it just won’t happen, what’s to be done?

Then we change how we go about creating that change!

First I saw the quote above. It’s attributed to Jim Rhon, a “business philosopher.”  Then I thought of a song and I really got into the old music video of it.  So I had to take time to share those two things with you.

Roll with the Changes!

  1. Yes, you’re right, Teagan, sometimes we can’t do much about change, yet when we are facing options we’ve got to be brave. Some changes are hard to embrace and fear gets often in our way. Love this encouraging post that reminds us that we aren’t alone when we feel frightened by the possibility of change.

  2. Really enjoyed the video, teagan. Change is part of life yet we resist and put off change as often as possible. This post comes at a time when I’m considering change and I appreciate the boost!

    1. You are so very welcome Catherine. Maybe it’s just that it’s spring, but it seems several of us are considering big changes.
Mostly fear keeps us from making changes. But to borrow from Eleanor Roosevelt…”We gain strength, and courage, and confidence by each experience in which we really stop to look fear in the face… we must do that which we think we cannot.”

    1. Hi David. I hope you’re having a good Sunday. I tend to thrive on change. As a friend from long ago once exclaimed, “You don’t mind shakin’ it up do you!” 🙂
      Sending you sunshine-super hugs!

    1. Thanks for stopping to comment, Mary. Absolutely re those feet.
“Take the first step in faith. You don’t have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step.” Martin Luther King, Jr.

  3. You’re leaning against an open door with me on this subject, as you well know Teagan. Thanks for the quote. I love it. And it’s true, even when chance might come our way, we still need to know what to do with it and embrace it. All the very best.
