Finishing 2012

Last week flew by!  It’s the first time I’ve ever taken time off at the holidays, and I’m glad I did.

Happily I’ve spent most of my spare time last week and this weekend doing things for my writing.  I finished tweaking the draft of Atonement, Tennessee, and then did the formatting and torturous set up on Create Space to get the free printed copies they offered NaNoWriMo “winners.”  Even if it is not published, it will feel great to have a tangible, “real” book that I’ve written in my hand!

As soon as I finished that, I went back to work on The Dead of Winter!  I’ve been in such a state of “what’s the point” for so long with that book, that I’m pleased to be working on it again.  Now all the characters that had been separated are reunited, and the final battle is at hand.  [I’ve given them more ‘close calls’ than fights, but they’ve also had their share of other types of dangers.  It was all leading up to this one big confrontation.  No holds barred!  LOL.

It would be nice if I finished it before the clock strikes 2013, but that last battle will be a lot to write; lots of threads to tie together.  I’m guesstimating that if I formatted it the way I did the NaNoWriMo novel for print, the DoW will be over 500 pages…

I’m a little sad not to finish it this year.  Even so, I’m just glad to see the light at the end of this tunnel!

Here’s to a 2013 that easily gives us not just everything we need, but everything we want as well.

Cheers,

teagan

  1. Oh! You are far too kind. This was my second blog post… Thank you — not just for commenting, but for reminding me of the feeling of accomplishment I had for the things I mentioned here. Have a marvelous Monday! Mega hugs.
