Hello, all. It’s already Thursday for some of my readers, so I’m hitting the publish button for this post. Also, since I’m among the worst haters of acronyms, let me explain (even though most of you are familiar with it) “WIP” means work in progress. I’ve mentioned that I’m finishing up a novelette that will publish in about a month. It’s in the final proofing phase now. AND my long-time writing buddy and friend, Dan Antion also has a new novel that will be published pretty soon. So, I’m double grateful that he’s offered to let me use his photos for this post. Dan’s photos give me an additional means of letting this collaborative effort weave our two disparate books into one blog post.
Daphne: Yummy Human, I think you’re babbling. You can stop stressing out now — the plumber hooked up the new water heater, and you can stop the hourly mopping… Chillax, Yummy. Although… I’m still working on a suitable price for you to pay for locking Velma and me in a room for that whole morning…
Meanwhile, why don’t you tell everybody what your book has in common with Uncle Dan’s book and his pictures?
Alright, Daphne. The plot of my book doesn’t have anything at all to do with Dan Antion‘s upcoming novel. Dan’s story features his Rascal Todd character. Yes, she’s the one with Bonkers the cat. Dan’s is a complex murder mystery — it will keep you thinking. A museum is a very important part of the book. In fact, his title is “The Museum Murders.”
Velma: But Yummy Human… what’s your Roaring Twenties story about? It’s the “A Medium’s Peril” series, isn’t it? When I was looking over your shoulder, I saw you writing about a ghost, but there wasn’t any museum.
You’re right, Velma. However, a vintage radio is an important part of my novelette, and Dan took a lot of fun pictures at… (drum roll…) a radio museum. The working title for my story is “A Peril in Unseen Frequencies” — those frequencies pertain to a 1920s radio.
In this case, the #ThursdayDoors, are the cabinetry doors for the vintage radios. Except for my pictures of the Scoobies, all the photos in this post were taken by Dan Antion for a post he did in 2020 about the Vintage Radio and Communications Museum of Connecticut. Those vintage radios are a trip to the wayback machine for sure, Teagan. I actually got to see one in person when visiting with my great-grandparents. Radio technology advancements sure have made it easier (and smaller) to tune in since then lol. Water heater technology has also improved a lot since the early days, and hopefully those Scoobies will not be cheated out of any Mom time due to mop duty from here on out. 😊

Hey, Bruce. What a coincidence — I was just at your blog, checking to see if you had a new post. Yeah… it seems to be repair time around this house. I thought my clothes dryer was going to quit in the middle of all the wet-towel mess. But shoving a wedge under one leg that had somehow gotten shorter seems to have fixed the scary moan sound it was making. Last week, it was my big air purifier (and the $100 wire part). I’m reminded of an old Garfield cartoon, where he seemed to be chased through the house by berserk small appliances. He ran to a calendar and said “Just as I thought. Today is the day all the warranties expired.” LOL Happy September. Hugs.
