Whatnot Wednesday: The Scoobies & Favorite Greens #CFFC

Update:  Do Not Give Your Cats Tea! Someone was going to try and give their cats green tea.  Of course, I made it clear that I was showing green boxes of tea, not green tea, but just the same…

Velma (L):  Hey Daphne… where’d that green paneling come from?  There’s nothing like that in this house.  It’s like it appeared by magic.

Daphne (R):  Wow… Velma, that can mean only one thing — there’s another color quest!

Welcome, all. The Scoobies are on hand, bringing cheer to help you over the midweek hump.  Dan Antion gave us the Crayola Crayons color green for “Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge” (CFFC).  The Scoobies and I spent the day looking around the house for our favorite “greens.”

That’s right, Scoobies!  You both did so well with our favorite “Yellows” — are you ready to find the color green?

Daphne:   I don’t know, Yummy Human… the weather’s so hot… I really just want to nap.

Velma (Yawns)  Yeah, me too, Yummy.   Ugh… Daphne, we might as well do it.  Yummy’s not going to let go of this color quest.

Oh, alright… as soon as I finish washing my toes.  Hang on, the big hammocks are green. Alrightie, there ya go. I found green.  I can finish napping now.

Come on, Scoobies.  What if I start the color quest.  Here’s a print of mostly green artwork created by our friend Kerfe, up in New York.

Velma:   That’s your malachite jewelry with it too, Yummy.  You said malachite broadcasts emotions.  I’m waiting to receive the enthusiasm…

Daphne:  Hey — I smell something.  Do colors have a smell?  I’ll investigate.

Daphne:  It’s green boxes of tea.  Yummy do you have any root tea?  No?  No valerian root tea? What do you mean, “it doesn’t taste good for tea”? Why, it’s the best thing in the world — even better than catnip!  Sigh… humans…  This cup smells interesting though.  Are you sure there isn’t any root?

Please Note: Daphne’s cup is actually empty! Jeeze…

Velma:  I still say you’ve got a root problem, Daphne…

Daphne:  Now those are some good “Greens.”  Don’t tease us, Yummy Human.  Open up those treats!  (Both chomp treats)  Thank you.  Hang on! Where’re you going? Nobody said that was enough.

Velma:  What Daphne said!  If that’s all the treats we’re going to get, then we’ll go back to the hammocks.  They’re green.  It’s not cheating.

Fair enough, Scoobies.  Those hammocks are definitely your favorite “Greens.”  Thanks for another color quest.  Well done.

I have some images too.  Resa liked the Victorian raccoon from my June floriography post so much that I was inspired to make more raccoons in gowns.  I imagined three raccoons at a tea party on the patio of an old mansion, and I wrote my detailed description of it at Night Cafe.  Of course, the racoons are wearing green gowns.

I did another “utopia city” but this time the abundant plants are green, instead of the buildings

My favorite “Green” is one of my fantasy fiction characters — Boabhan from Dead of Winter Omnibus, also called the Woman in Green.  There’s more about that “big book” at this post.

Thanks for joining the Scoobies and me in our quest for green.   Friendly comments are welcome.  Hugs on the wing!

Speaking of Dead of Winter, it’s also the obligatory shameless self-promotion for today.

Meanwhile I’ve also had a computer/writing disaster. I’m not sure when I’ll be back.  There doesn’t really seem to be much point.

I’ve closed comments.

  1. OMG!!

Love, love, love the green gowned Victorian raccoons. Thank you Teagan!

I love the one last week, too!

Okay green is great, and you are greater! Eventually… I’ll be doing a raccoon street art post. Don’t know when. I ‘m collecting raccoon art. May I use this ands the last one when I do?

    Big Green Hugs!

  2. Green is definitely flattering on Lady Raccoons but I’m not so sure about that paneling!. I will try introducing our kitty to green tea – perhaps it will calm him down!

    1. Oh gosh, Jan – I hope you’re joking. I have no way to know. Green/black whatever tealeaf tea is not good for cats, so please don’t. That’s why I said “green boxes” of tea, not green tea. Daphne is sniffing a mint herbal tea bag, but I wouldn’t have let her eat it. Hugs.

  3. The Scoobies have done it again, Teagan! I laughed at Daphne’s determination to find root tea and Velma’s observation that she might have a “root problem.” The dialogue between them is always such fun. I am amazed by how many shades of green found their way into the story, from your beautiful artwork and malachite jewellery to tea boxes, treats, hammocks, and finally that wonderfully imaginative green utopia. Green seems to carry so many associations: growth, comfort, imagination, and a touch of mischief. As always, the stars of the show are Daphne and Velma. Sending many hugs on speedy wings to you and the Scoobies!

  4. With the help of the Scoobies you certainly covered the color green in a beautiful way, Teagan. I enjoyed the banter and raccoons in green. Your utopia city gardens were delightful.

  5. I loved all your greens, maybe especially the tea mug and all the green teas. The thought of raccoons in gowns sitting down to a tea table cracks me up. I can’t imagine anything less formal and refined than a raccoon. lol! You make them look believable, though. Of course, YOU would — you can make anything believable; it’s your superpower!

  6. Those are great greens, Teagan. I love the picture of Daphne checking out that cup. I have to send this post to my wife. She loved the raccoon in the gown, too. I hope you have a great rest of the week. Thanks for supporting CFFC.

  7. Well done Scoobies, for helping find green things! I enjoyed the photos and conversation. The raccoon tea party looked fancy! I thought you might mention Émeraude, of the Delta Pearl, since her name means green, too. 🙂

    1. Hi, Barbara. Thanks for remembering The Delta Pearl! That means a lot to me. LOL, I plead heat exhaustion. We’re looking at 105 F today. I imagine it’s similar where you are. Anyhow, I actually thought of the character Malachite from that story… But somehow or other the thought slipped away.

Emeralds in various forms and forms of names slipped unknowingly into several of my books before I realized it. Although Emeraude was intentional and studied. Maybe I should do a post about that… Hugs. 🤗

      1. I always liked that name, because I had a perfume I liked with that name years ago. .. Yes, we are under a heat advisory for temps to be 106 up to 110 toady. We’ll be inside with the A/C for sure. Hope you and the scoobies are keeping cool. ❤

    1. Oh, cool! I love green too. That’s why the Scoobies could find so much of it. LOL. Next week is “Blue” and I’m unexpectedly stumped at the moment… Plenty of aqua, turquoise, and teal, but I’ve got to rummage for blue. Thanks for joining us, Beth. Hugs.
