Welcome, all. The Scoobies are on hand, bringing cheer to help you over the midweek hump. Dan Antion posted so many beautiful examples of yellow for his “Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge” (CFFC) that, with some encouragement from Daphne and Velma, I decided to participate. The Scoobies and I spent the day looking around the house for our favorite “yellows.” That’s my favorite yellow above. That yellow barrel cactus has grown a lot in the past few years. It was smaller than a soccer ball for years, and then suddenly started growing. Now I guess it’s about 15 inches across.
Now, I have to hand this post over to the Scoobies.
Daphne: My yellow cactus is better. It doesn’t have needles — it feels good to scrub on it. That’s my favorite yellow.

Velma: That scrubber is old news, Daphne. We’re supposed to be finding “Yellows” around the house. What else is there? Oh wait, remember those tassel earrings that Yummy Human wouldn’t let us play with? That’s a fun yellow.

Velma: What about the new slipcovers Yummy put out this spring? They’re part yellow. You know the yellow print on them. See? Right here on the one on the bench.

Daphne: Good eye, Velma. The same print’s on a white background on the sofas. See, I’m pointing at it with my tail. But I know that is not your favorite yellow. You should be ashamed… you’re absolutely cray-cray for that fake egg stuff Yummy Human has for breakfast sometimes. Honestly… what kind of cat would eat “plant based” pretend eggs?

Velma: But Daphne… they’re sooo good… I can’t help myself. Yep, that’s my favorite yellow alright.

Daphne: Hey, Yummy. Please tell me you have a favorite yellow besides that cactus. What? You used to have yellow high-top tennis shoes. You’ve got to be kidding me. You’re as nuts as Velma.

Nice work, Scoobies. I have one more image. I imagined a yellow utopia city, and wrote my description of it at Night Cafe. I made several versions. Here’s one below.

Thanks for visiting. Friendly comments are welcome. Hugs.

Awesome! By the way, have you tried Just Egg before? Just curious, because I’ve seen them in the store and I kind of want to try them.

Hi, Edward. I’m happy you could join us. Oh, yes and I like them very well. I have Just Egg for breakfast a few times a week. I’m terribly allergic to eggs (something that happened suddenly when I was about 40 — weird, I know). I haven’t found any other alternative that I can really use. (Years ago I learned to make tofu “scrambled eggs,” but I became sensitive to a plate full of soy…)
Pros: Just Egg is from “mung bean” rather than soy. They’re quick and easy (the frozen version). I wrap it in a paper towel and microwave. The box states they can be put in a toaster, but I don’t want to try that… And it’s true that Velma is nuts for them. LOL.
Cons: They’re expensive (for the amount of food you’re buying), and the serving size is small. About the size of a single medium egg. If I cut it into little squares, it will cover a slice of bread though.
I have not tried the liquid kind in the carton. If you’re on the fence, go ahead and try them. I hope you’ve had a thriving Thursday. Thanks for commenting. Hugs.

Thank you for the explanation, and I’m definitely buying them next time. I like the ones that you bought because I can keep them in the freezer, unlike the liquid which probably needs to be used within 7 days of opening.

Hi Teagan, yellow is my favourite colour and you and I booth featured desert plants which is interesting. I would like those yellow shoes too.

Robbie, those were the most comfortable shoes ever. 😀 I got a fair amount of teasing about them, but I didn’t care in the least.
I glimpsed some kind of cactus at your blog — I’m still catching up. I’m most intrigued to read the post. Big hugs.

I get comments about my clothes too. I am quite vibrant in my colour choices. I don’t care either. I think you will like the cactus pictures. They are all in flower at this time of year.

Oh Teagan!!! What a wonderful post that features the colour that Vincent loved so much. Velma and Daphne led us on a very exciting search for yellow. What could have been a simple colour exercise became a lovely story told through photographs, dialogue, and imagination. I especially enjoyed how ordinary objects like the tassel earrings, the slipcovers, the shoes, and even the plant-based eggs, became part of the adventure. By the end, I felt as though I had been looking at the world through the eyes of two curious cats.

Dear Rebecca, thank you for this delightful comment. It gave me such a smile. This post somehow just came together. I hope I will be able to get the Scoobies to take me on another color adventure in the future. 🐱
Velma should be a spokes-cat or Just Egg. She really is nuts for it. If I don’t give her bites fast enough, she puts her paw on my hand, trying to guide it over to her. I appreciate you visiting. Hugs on the wing.

A fun post, Teagan. This is a whole new meaning to Yellow Fever.
Love that print with the black and white backgrounds.
Thank you to Daphne and Velma for hosting!
Big Yellow Hugs!

Thanks, Resa. The print seems “loud” to some people, but I love colors. Plus I just needed to look at something different in that room.
Thanks for making me think of whichever hall of fame where several women sang Big Yellow Taxi to Joni Mitchell. Great performance. I wish I had thought of including that. Hugs winging back to you. 🤗

I love big floral prints. Yes…Joni!
You can put that performance in any post… call it wolley – backwards looking on yellow. OR Yell Ow! I forgot this for my yellow post.
Don’t mind me! I’m being silly. I just had it out with my dilapidated Judy, and am releasing.
HUGS!

With all due respect to the Scoobies, I like your yellow barrel cactus the best, with the utopian city coming in a close second.

Velma and Daphne did a great job finding yellow. I love your cactus. 15 inches across is a big one. Those yellow high top would have been attention getters for sure. Well done finding yellow, Teagan.

Thanks John. It’s about doubled in size fairly suddenly. I have a large barrel of the regular variety, and I’m sad that it is not doing well (from the original ones). It’s as if that one is shriveling from the inside. There’s also an exotic (?) prickly pear (that came the same time as the yellow one). It used to have a yellow cast to it. It has ruffly “ears”. It stayed in size about 8 wide X 12 inches tall. Now, suddenly it’s getting huge. It’s about 3 feet wide now and still growing. And the guy put it right by the door… so it will soon be a problem…
I’m happy you enjoyed this. Keep cool, and big hugs.

We have a prickly pear that has done the same thing. Almost overnight, it’s like it ate some magic mushrooms. 😀

Those are great examples of yellow, Teagan. Your cactus is neat, and really cool that it’s doing so well.

Thanks, Deborah. My really big barrel cactus isn’t doing well, and another one that I always liked… so it’s a relief that this one is thriving, and after a few years finally growing. Hugs.

Those are some mighty fine yellows! I eat Just Egg sometimes, too, sometimes in preference to real eggs. Yum!

Thanks, Marian, and I agree about the product. I’m allergic to eggs, so I was happy to finally find an alternative that I actually liked. Hugs.

Have you seen the promo for a live action Scooby Doo movie. I thought of you and the Scoobies when I heard about it.

A new one? No, I haven’t seen that, Pat. I’ll keep an eye out. Two or three years ago they were supposed to be doing a TV series focused on the Velma character, but as far as I know, that doesn’t seem to have gotten off the ground. Hugs.

I love the Velma and Daphne conversations! But oh! Those yellow high-top shoes! Your yellow city just has to be a happy place. Yellow is such a happy color!

Noelle, I wore the real version of those shoes until they started falling apart — and then kept wearing them. They were so comfortable — and fun too. Hugs.

Ice skating? I’m impressed — maybe because I’m so uncoordinated. Before (and during) the yellow sneakers era, I had orchid-purple cowboy boots. They were so very comfortable that I wore them so much and for so many years that I lost count of how many times I had the heels replaced. 😻

I haven;t ice skated in years. My balance is so awful now that I wouldn’t try it although my grandson wants me to skate with him!
I had a pair of sports shoes I had resoled many times. You love what you love!

I love your cactus, Teagan! I keep telling my mother I want one like that one when we walk past the flower shop, but we don’t have enough space (or an outdoors garden) to have it. I don’t often wear yellow, but it is a very cheerful color and I do like Velma and Daphne’s choices as well. Thanks for brightening up my Wednesday, dear Teagan! Big hugs and love to the Scoobies!

It makes me happy that you enjoyed this, Olga. I know you weren’t asking for a recommendation, but regardless, I’m so terrible with plants that I would be afraid to suggest anything. I feel lucky when mine live — even the cacti. Hugs winging back to you and your mom from the Scoobies and me. 🤗 😽😸

That cactus is amazing, Teagan. I didn’t know such a thing existed. I always picture cactus looking like the ones in Roadrunner cartoons or western movies.
Good to see Jinx again. I still love that story.
