Flower of the Month: April

Daisies in vase window sea by Teagan via Night Cafe

Hello, all.  I had over half of this post done when my computer crashed.  What I had saved of the post in WordPress… well, didn’t save.  I’m starting over, but with an abbreviated version.

Flowers of the Month: Daisies and Sweet Peas

I expect that everyone is familiar with the charming daisy (as in my image at the top of the page).  So the photo here features the delicate looking sweet pea.

Symbolism

Daisies symbolize innocence, purity, and true love, while sweet peas represent bliss, gratitude, and good wishes.

April’s Animals

From various sources the primary animal associated with April is the duck.  That’s my lovely Night Cafe model above.  The duck symbolizes cheer, and endurance — as in “like water off a duck’s back.”  Other April animals include the falcon and the ram.

Oracle Card

The Magic of Flowers oracle cards by Tess Whitehurst has a card for the daisy.  I love the joy and whimsy of the artwork on this card.  In the context of the oracle cards, the daisy can remind us to be mindful of simplicity, health, purification, and wealth.

“Rather than adding or doing something in order to experience the most positive resolution or outcome in this situation, it appears that it’s time to let something go or to simply let it be.”

So, I’m going to follow that suggestion — since I lost so much work, I’m going to just let this post be, and let it be simple.  Friendly comments are appreciated.  Hugs!

        1. We had 3 weeks in March with temperatures that were 30 degrees higher than normal (that means the 90s). Thankfully lately it’s been around 80 — normal and very nice. But in May it normally starts getting very hot. So enjoying the nice weather for the short time it lasts. 😎

  1. Thank you, Teagan!

It’s such a drag when we lose our computer work to a crash.. or like I do sometimes, an idiot’s click.

Love both these flowers and ducks. It’s got to be a great month.

Those Magic of Flowers oracle cards are absolutely beautiful. I may have to get a deck.

    BIG HUGS!

  2. Sorry about the computer crash, Teagan 🙂 Loved this post. The daisies and sweet peas are beautiful. I like the daisy fairy message to let it be. Sometimes that is just what we need to do! Sending lots of hugs xo

    1. It makes me happy that you enjoyed this post, Denise. Yes, the perfectionist part can have a difficult time with it, but I’ve come to see the necessity of sometimes making things good enough — knowing when to let it be because it’s already fine. Big hugs back to you.

  3. Sorry about your difficulties with this post, dear Teagan, but I enjoyed it anyway. I was covering a flower festival for the radio last weekend, and I thought of you. I hope all things technical improve. Big hugs and love to the Scoobies!

  4. I feel your pain. So frustrating. I had my post ready to publish last night when I went over to another tab on the browser to check some info. When I came back to the WP tab, the post was gone. Even the saved draft was gone. I finally got the energy to reconstruct the post, but all my enthusiasm was gone.

  5. Sorry about the problem with WordPress ( so what’s new?). I chalk it up to a poltergeist. I haven’t seen sweet peas in years – I used to grow them on my patio in California where I had a lot of shade. I love daisies, but when I picked some wild ones, I learned pretty quickly that inside they had a bad smell. Lovely to look at, though!

    1. Thanks very much, Beth. With the changes to WordPress, every time I want to “save” it closes the editing window, then I have to save the draft and reopen and re-expand the editor box before continuing work… I wasn’t saving often enough, and I knew it would eventually catch up with me. Hugs. 🤗
