Imagine Something Wondrous: 1

Glass Tower waterfall airship in Light by Teagan via Night Cafe

Hello, all.  You’re an inspired group, and you inspire others, including me.  As promised in my midweek post, today I’m starting a new series.  My intention is to help us all, not just keep as positive of a thought as we can, but to imagine things that are full-on splendiferous!

With the cooperation of the Night Cafe app, I wanted to show a wondrous place with a glass tower beside a waterfall, and an airship floating past.  Of course, I had to write a much more specific description than that, but you get the idea.  You see the eventual result in the image above.

Imagination Prompt

Now, it’s your turn to imagine something wondrous.  You might write about it, blog it, cook something inspired by it, draw it, dance it, or anything other way you express your creative imagination.  Or you could simply open your mind and imagine.

Your prompt is:  What could be inside?

(Inside one of the buildings, behind the waterfall, under the water.)

Consider one of the things in the large header image: glass tower, castle, airship, waterfalls, light reflecting in the pool.  (Click on the image if you want to make it larger.)  Now, imagine something extraordinary, yet positive.

What kind of work happens in the glass tower?  Is it actually made of glass or some other wondrous material?  What makes the light in the pool (is it really only reflected sunlight)?  Are there caves behind the waterfalls?  Does the water have special properties? Does the sound of the falls do anything beyond creating a loud roar?  Who is in the airship and why are they approaching?

Feel free to type your imagining in a comment.  If you do a post about it, please link back to this post.

Of course, there’s the obligatory shameless self-promotion…

This doesn’t have anything to do with the prompt image in the header — I wrote this story a couple of years ago.  This one is a science fiction short story, available at Amazon.com.

Here are some other images I imagined for the wondrous world called Inyan.

  1. I love being around water, so I imagine a room filled with books hidden behind the waterfall. My own private getaway to do nothing but read. There would also be a space for Bond, of course. *sigh* What a nice dream.

  2. “The tower is made of glass dreams… easily shattered by the earthquake of any doubt or fear, and the airship is being steered by a swarm of sprightly creatures hovering the waters of belief. There are many more magical sprites inhabiting the world behind the roaring waterfalls, deep in the dark caves of trembling shadows softly intertwined with shimmering flickers of brightness… where the Princess of Night and Light reigns over it all. Her name is Leyla… and only by her touching and breathing over the miraculous stream of water flowing underneath, can the inhabitants of the world above enjoy the light and the warmth of the sun, the passing of the clouds… and the splendor of the entire dome of the ethereal skies all around.

It is only a magical matter of faith, for all the beings inhabiting this elusive realm of shimmer and shade to choose to look beyond the deafening roar and lure of the surface falls, through and beyond the forest of fears and doubts… and see deep into the flow of beauty and grace underneath. Leyla and the sprightly creatures forever make sure that the suave scent of the white blossoms of hope and the soft petals of light reach the walls of the tower, where the glass dreams lie hidden in the darkest corners… until springs arrives yet again and again… and all the windows are to be opened.”

😊 I hope you enjoy my “creation”, Teagan. I went to my NightCafe and downloaded this image which had sprung to mind when looking at the waterfalls in your image. As for the other elements… I let the magic of dreams unfold its fanciful tale. Thank you for the wondrous prompt! 💖

  3. A wonderful and inspiring image Teagan. My imagination says that there is this beautiful glass building made by someone who is happening to have a superb imagination and creativity in the middle of the waterfalls that are flowing in all their splendor. There are tourists in the plane who have come to see this magical engineering Marvel. Hope you liked my imaginative story Teagan.

  4. I can imagine myself in the penthouse suite as my getaway from real world intrusions. Very luxurious surroundings, no clutter, no TV, no cell phone, no internet. As I gaze at the many views, I’ll spin fairy tales for me to star in (but skip the violence and the gore).

    1. It’s wonderful to imagine luxury, Liz. The “no clutter” part is in my personal visualization too.
Ha. Yes, actual fairytales really were grim and gory. What you said sounds secure/needs and wants all met, and peaceful, splendid contentment. Hugs.

  5. I imagine that the glass tower is filled with cats, and lots of Blue Cats. My Misha turns sort of blue in certain sunlights. So, lots of cats and lots of blue cats would be wonderful, for all the cat people who live there.

    1. Resa, I love it — and I love blue Misha. She’s a happy blue. How cool. Yes, blue Misha is wondrous indeed!

I don’t remember if you said, because of the difficulties when you got her, but is she a Russian Blue? Maybe that’s why you named her Misha. (I know they aren’t really blue, but maybe that explains the trick of light in the photo. At any rate, you’ve reminded to put “Misha” in the book of names I’ve been working on. It means “gift of God,” but in Russian culture it’s an endearment nickname meaning “little bear.” She’s a lovely, feisty little bear. Hugs to you both.

      1. Yes… I believe Misha is descended from Russian Blue.
Between that she is so bossy (referred to as VOCAL or TALKATIVE in cat lover circles), and turns blue – ish in certain light, I looked her up.
        Russian Blue fits!

YES, Little Bear! Many times I’ve said to Norm, look at her, she looks like a little bear!

Misha was already her name when she came to live here. She was 51/2, and on her way to the cat shelter. Her owner was going into a care home.
I couldn’t let that happen. My recent trips to cat shelters had left me in tears and sick to my stomach.

Anyway, we were off to a rough start, but she is now my baby blue!
        HUGS!

  6. Teagan, my mind was not wonderous looking at the photo, as I had hoped. First thoughts a pending disaster. The glass tower sinking into the falls/water. The airship, a rescue for people on the roof who felt the slight downward building movement. Pool reflects people lower down realizing they had to scramble to higher floors. Kind of a 9/11 similar picture. Maybe it’s my current state of mind working daily recovering from hip surgery. But…If the glass tower sinks so slowly then all the people make to the top and into the airbus. Now that would be wonderous. ❤️

    1. Yes, Christine, I was thinking along the lines of “positive” when I said wondrous. Considering everything of the past year, it’s hard NOT to imagine impending disaster… but that’s the point of these posts — to try and get us all to think of amazingly wonderful things. Flights of fancy, whimsy, childlike wonder. On my previous post I included several quotes, some of them centuries old, about (to paraphrase) what you think you become.

Believe me, I’m the worst about negative thoughts and/or self-talk. I absolutely understand. 😉 That’s why I’m here to help. 😀 Hugs.

      1. Thank you Teagan for bring me back to wondrous thinking. Better I get into flights of fancy and play with words in a different way. Maybe Sci-fi writing will get me onto another planet with wondrous things to write about. 💞

    1. Haha. Actually, years ago, back in the day, I remember doing a post that Chris Gaham helped with, where Ralda Lawton got on an airship… I’m pretty sure it connected Atonement to some other story… or maybe it was for Get Caught Reading Month… It was so long ago. Anyhow, thanks for coming out to play. Hugs.

  7. Inside the obsidian glass tower lies the giant Lemurian Crystal which holds the history of the entire universe. Only the purest of heart can see the Crystal and none can touch it. It vibrates with an intensity that sends the water pouring over the rocks. The airship is a guardian sent by the Lemurian people. 🔮 That was fun, Teagan!

    1. That sounds like a beautiful sunset, Kerfe.
Ah, but maybe this isn’t the kind of tower you expect. 🤗 I think I’ll let my ponderings be a midweek post. I don’t want to include it here because I don’t want to influence anyone’s ideas.
I hope your year is off to a fabulous start. Hugs.

    1. You are so kind, John– thank you. Hmmm I wonder if I could make a past/future world with vintage cars… Once I tried for a street filled with old muscle cars, and my results weren’t too good. But it’s all in getting the wording just so. Anyhow, thanks for commenting. Hugs.

  8. No room in the schedule for another post but I may have to expand on this idea. You see, the lighthouse was no longer in service, but a man was still living there with his family. His ancestors had been granted the land in lieu of payment for keeping the light and maintaining the equipment. This was back after a government default. The State didn’t have money, so it was giving away resources.

The developers who wanted to build the tower offered the man an enormous sum of money, but he refused to sell them the land for the tower. They struck a bargain whereby he gets to stay in the lighthouse, but with all meals catered by the restaurant at the top of the tower. He and his family are welcome at all events in the tower, and all maintenance for the lighthouse is handled by the tower’s staff. Inside the lighthouse is a worry-free life of ease, with every material need met as soon as it’s realized.

  9. I’ll be back in a while. I have an idea 🤔

    Meanwhile rambling thoughts……………

The glass tower is full of beings not throwing stones
The two remaining buildings are the remnants of the flooding that happened after the asteroid crashed, lifting the landform, which also created a water fall.
Beings in the glass tower monitor the water levels at the waterfall ensuring the turbines are rotating maintaining power for the surrounding population of beings.
They are always happy to see the dirigible which carries supplies and returns with the cargo holds filled with all sorts of objects created for the beings by the beings from the minimal waste that is produced.
Last month, outdoor furniture was the best seller, this month, earrings. Shares in BBB, Best Being Buys, have slumped but not needing being regenesis just yet.
The clouds being burnt off by sunrise indicate it will be a fine day.
Just right for being being outside

  10. What a beautiful and inspiring image, dear Teagan! I have a few crazy-busy days ahead, but I am sure the image will float in my mind as I am out and about doing things, and who knows what might get started! Have a lovely weekend. Big hugs and love to the Scoobies!
