Atonement in Zugzwang, Book 1 — Now available

Saturday, September 9, 2023

Welcome, everyone.  I hope your September is going well.  I’m still on a blog “break.” That word is kind of hard to say considering that I’ve been staying up past 1AM several nights, working on books and related tasks.

However, to tide you over until I come back to do the other part of “Atonement in Zugzwang”…  Drum roll..  I’ve bookized part one.

Atonement in Zugzwang, Book 1

If you haven’t followed the serial, the book is a perfect way to start.  Likewise, if you’ve missed episodes, or just want a refresher before the second part of the serial begins, I’ve given you an easy way to catch up.

Revised:  E-book and Paperback both available now.

For the weekend, the e-book is available at a nominal price.  They won’t really let me do that with the paperback because of ever increasing printing costs.  However, for the first few days I’ll list it at as low of a price as possible.

    1. Hi, David. Yes it is. That’s part of why I had to take a “blog break” — I haven’t been visiting many blogs, and haven’t done any “story” posts of my own. LOL, but if I keep this “break” much longer, I’ll work myself to death. Have a beautiful new week. Hugs.

    1. Thanks very much, Resa. I’m working super hard, trying to finish up several open projects. I’ve actually been sort of frantic about trying to do everything. Then I suddenly was compelled to bookize part 1 of this serial — on top of everything else. I’ll probably be mostly absent from the blog-verse for another week, but I know I need to start Part 2 of Atonement in Zugzwang as soon as possible. I appreciate your encouragement. Hugs winging back to you.

    1. It’s good to see you, Cindy. Haha, I guess I finally found something positive about the endless 100 degree days — I can’t get the bedroom cool enough to relax, so I burn the midnight oil working on books instead of sleeping. LOL.
Have a great new week. Hugs.

            1. The short answer is yes, but when the high is 96 to 107, it’s not enough.
Though *not* in the mountains, altitude is 4330 ft. So a good deal cooler in the overnight hours, but only to the low 70s. I have a metal roof, which insulates quite well, but it also holds onto the heat, once absorbed. So the house doesn’t cool off until 3AM.
But with that elevation comes intense sun. On a 95 degree day, by 8:30AM, under the shelter of my front porch it’s already close to 90 degrees.
Fall comes earlier than on the east coast, because of the monsoon season giving brief cool-downs a few times a week. Unfortunately, this year we haven’t gotten any rain to speak of from it.
Generally I’ve loved the climate. Previously we only got a few days each summer with 100+ highs — or winter lows below zero a few nights… I’m afraid those days are gone.

    1. Thanks, Noelle. There are always people who say they’ll wait for the book, so… Anyway, it’s such a detailed story, that I thought serial readers would benefit from having the entire thing in one place. It’s around 45,000 words. Have a wonderful weekend. Hugs.

    1. Thanks, Tim.
Ha. We started having July down here in early June, July again in August, and it’s still July. So hot and so, so dry. Maybe that’s why I keep burning the midnight oil working on books. The house (especially the bedroom) doesn’t start to get cool enough until a few hours after dinner. Then I find myself getting back to computer work again. I hope all is well in your world. Hugs.

      1. We’ve had a cool summer up here. Only a few days over 100. But it’s so so dry. 8/10 of an inch in June, 1/100 of an inch in July, 1/2 and inch in August, and zero rain so far in September. The river is too low to draw water into the ditches to irrigate. I upgraded most of our watering systems since we don’t have irrigation water.

    1. That’s kind of you, Liz. I don’t intend to do any launch. The serial/books don’t do well. I guess it’s the “free milk and a cow” thing. I’ll save those efforts for this fall, since I’m working on a novella for Halloween. Have a lovely weekend. Hugs.

        1. Yes. At least that’s my experience. Even so, a serial can be a great way to finish a book. Blog comments help motivate me, and because of posting episodes the manuscript already has a few round of edits, and it means built in beta readers. Even though the book versions don’t sell well, it’s still another book on my author “bookshelf”, and that’s A good thing.

  1. Beautiful cover, Teagan, and a great way to catch up or have the whole story available in one place. I think you work more during your breaks than most people do while they are at work, but that’s who you are. It is evident that your creativity is flying. Well done!
