Who is Teagan Ríordáin Geneviene

Teagan Ríordáin Geneviene is certain that “the pen is in your hand.”  Her life was shaped by the tragedy of losing a sibling to Munchausen Syndrome by Proxy, along with the abuse she herself survived then and in adulthood.  More about that childhood is disclosed in Re-Inventionators: Teagan.

Teagan took that metaphorical pen into her hand. She wrote her way to a new chapter of life with a successful career authoring and editing technical documentation. With another “revision” that pen took her to the next chapter, working alongside highly placed Federal executives to compose their communications and presentations (and much, much more).

However, Teagan wasn’t finished.  The pen was still in her hand.  In her latest chapter she is an acclaimed multi-genre author, living in a high desert town in the Southwest of the USA.  Rescue cats, the “Scoobies” — Velma and Daphne, offer unsolicited advice on all stories, as well as the book covers Teagan designs.  In free time she enjoys conversations with friends, singing karaoke, and playing her piano.

Teagan Ríordáin Geneviene’s stories range from paranormal to high fantasy and urban fantasy, to whimsical versions of the various types of “punk,” to mysteries with historic settings… and anything else that strikes her fancy.  Founder of the Three Things method of storytelling, her blog “Teagan’s Books” contains serial stories spontaneously written according to “random reader things” from viewers.  Some of those serials have been rewritten into books, like “Hullaba Lulu,” and “Brother Love, a Crossroad,” and the series “Pip’s Three Things.”  In addition to fiction, she has created the Author Tool Chest series of non-fiction works as resources for writers and anyone who loves language.

  1. Howdy!

I just popped by to grab your pic…successful.

Also, I will use your about, or probably an edited version of it.

    Hugs!

PS. I hopped over to Youtube to see if there was a video promo for The Delta Pearl, but didn’t find one. Is there one?

  2. thank you for sharing this Teagan, and bringing my attention to it. Having lost a sibling to a very rare illness; church Strauss Syndrome, I can only applaud your willingness to share this information to raise awareness. I have tried on my end, but it makes for heavy writing when I think of her. I appreciate your courage in sharing this in your about page, my friend 🙏

    1. Nigel, I’m so sorry that you experienced that kind of loss. So often the siblings are overlooked, their grief not considered and ignored. Yes, it is very heavy writing. I’ve tried to start my own story several times, but it’s too much. I finally decided to put it in my author page and here, because I’ve been working on a book (that barely touches on) that mentions Munchausen by Proxy, and I didn’t want the issue to come out of nowhere for my readers. Although even writing about it, couched in the backstory of the heroine is so difficult that five years later I haven’t been able to finish that urban fantasy. Yes, I understand. Thank you for your kind words and encouragement. Hugs.

    1. Thank you kindly, Annika. I only recently revised my about page. I don’t want to seem like I’m looking for sympathy, so I had not included this. However, so many people deny Munchausen by Proxy that my desire to shed light on it outweighed my need to be private. I’m not sure if I’m emotionally able to do much to create that focus, but this was a small way of trying. Wishing you continued success in 2024. Hugs winging back to you.
