Welcome, all. The Scoobies are here again, bringing their particular brand of fun to help you over the midweek hump. Dan Antion gave us a challenge to use pairs from the old “Crayola Crayons Box of 8,” for Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge (CFFC). Always a mystery-solving duo, the Scoobies and spent the day looking around the house for clues to find things that paired hues from those eight colors.
Now, I have to hand this post over to the Scoobies.

Daphne: Look! I found yellow and blue together in our old rug.
Velma: Yeah, but there’s also magenta, and chartreuse, and every other color. It has more than a pair. Does that matter? Besides… How did you get that rug out, Daphne? I thought Yummy Human took it away.
Daphne: Ahh, Grasshopper. Have faith in your sensi. It’s the magic of the computer, Velma. And I’m calling this part of the rug “yellow and blue.” I found the first pair of colors. So there.
Velma: (SNORTS) You aren’t my sensi and you dog-on sure aren’t the boss of me. I always get the upper paw with you. But that said, okay… I’ll give it to you. Hang on. Where are you going now? The kitchen? You haven’t already found another color pair have you? That’s not fair!

Daphne: I found red and yellow. Oh, I love this rug…
Velma: Once again, there are other colors besides yellow mixed with the red…

Velma: Alright then… If you’re going to play it fast and loose, I just found black and blue in the bench cover. And going for doubles, I found pink and yellow in it too.
Daphne: Pink isn’t one of the eight colors. Follow instructions, and listen to your sensi. Oh-oh… I think I might have made her mad…

Daphne: Whaaah! I give you my cat-fu kick.
Velma: Oh phleeeze Daphne. You know you’re no match for me. Hai-yah!
What’s going on in there, Scoobies?

Daphne: Uh… nothing, Yummy! Hey, I just found blue and orange.
Velma: There’s only one color there, Daphne. There’s no orange, just a blue cloth. You’re really bending rules.
Daphne: We’re orange, silly. Hey, where’re you going? To the ceiling? Are you still hissed-off?

Velma: Bettcha can’t get up here! I found light green and light brown.

Daphne: I found red and green, and it’s delicious. Ummm… basil.
Velma: That’s a matter of taste. Wait, we haven’t found anything paired with purple yet. If we want to get bonus points from Uncle Dan for finding all the pairs, then our quest isn’t finished yet. Yummy Human? Have you got a purple and yellow scarf? A purple and blue dish? Green and purple socks, maybe? We need something with purple.
No, Velma… give me a second to do some Night Cafe magic… … Here ya go. A purr-fect purple and green.

Velma: Excellent, Yummy. Yes, we’re the queens of the castle! I love the green gown you gave me.
Daphne: Oooh that’s a purr-fect shade of purple. … but I think I should wear the green. It goes better with my eyes.
Velma: We both have exactly the same color of eyes, Daphne. Hey, Yummy Human — did we find enough color pairs to get the bonus points?
Scoobies, I honestly don’t know. I’ve completely lost track. I’m not even certain that we got the pairs concept right. Now, don’t look sad. The bonus points are just fun, you can’t do anything with them. Tell you what — I’ll give you bonus treats. Yes, I thought you’d like that. Scoobies, you did great work.
Thanks for visiting, everyone. Friendly comments are welcome. Hugs.

What a colorful post, Teagan – I couldn’t resist, lol. Loving the cat-fu kick. Bond also uses that move quite often. My basil plants aren’t close enough for Bond to sample, but now I’m wondering if he’d like them. I might try that this weekend.

Haha! Thanks, Edward. Sometimes when Velma starts giving Daphne “that look” I can almost hear Carl Douglas singing the “Wo-wo-wo. Wo-wo-woah-oh” opening of “Kung Fu Fighting”. I had that in mind when I made this video around a very short video of the Cat-fu Fighting. Unfortunately, I couldn’t use his song for it. Thanks for visiting. Hugs.

Thanks, Resa. I’m happy you could join us. We’re just keeping it low key during this prolonged, endless heat, wishing for summertime to end. It’s the fourth week of temps over 100F. 104 to 106 for the past two weeks, and tomorrow is forecasted at 108… I’ve developed a huge appreciation for simple ice water.
Don’t type too hard. I know you’re buried in comments at your blogs. Hugs.

The Scoobies are on it again! I love the cat-fu kick! and perhaps I should grow some basil for Garfield to munch on – he is currently nibbling on my anthuriam, which I’m not sure is good for him.
I LOVE that red and yellow braided rug!

Hi Noelle. I haven’t looked into that plant. I did check out the safety of basil for cats though. Daphne made such a big mess with it (the dirt) that the next time the store ran out, I stopped buying it. I haven’t seen it available to me this year.
Oh that rug picture was three years ago — how can that possibly be and where did the time go?! The rug is showing how “well loved” it is now. Although just seeing how much Daphne still loves it, made it worth every penny, regardless of the shape it’s in now. Hugs and purrs.

The Scoopies come through with flying … er … colors, as always. I’ve really enjoyed this color challenge. Although I don’t participate on my blog, I love anything that makes me see ordinary things that have faded into the background with new attention.

Bonus treats > Bonus points all day long, Teagan. The Scoobies have their priorities correct, and they also prioritized finding a dazzling collection of color pairs. I also appreciate seeing a new option on how to eat basil going forward.😊

Haha! If you take Daphne’s basil option, then have a broom ready. She makes a huge mess, and dirt gets everywhere. Thanks for making me chuckle, Bruce. I’m happy you could join us. Hugs and purrs.

They love unraveling a mystery, Liz. LOL. Oh, I got so lucky with that image. Sometimes it takes dozens of tries, and tweaking what I write, but that time I got it on the first try. I’m happy you enjoyed it. Hugs and purrs.

You definitely got the bonus points. And, given my color blindness, you could have tricked me by saying the pink was purple, but I love seeing the girls in their gowns.
I hope you guys have a wonderful day. Thanks for playing along, and you know I love being reminded of Brother Love!

Thanks for being generous and patient with us, Dan. Since Brother Love sprang from Neil Diamond’s “hit August night” lyrics, I always think of it as a hot weather book. Hmm… Maybe I should sort of “re-release” it for August… Not sure I have the energy though. Thanks for commenting. Hugs. 🤗 😸 😺

It’s a very good read on a Hot August Night. I still think of it when I pass Birdie’s house (it has been fixed up a bit since the serial story).
