Here it comes… Happy New Year

New Year’s Day, 2025
Velma and Daphne looking out the window at New Year's fireworks
Velma left, Daphne right
Velma:  Jinkies, Daphne…there it goes… Daphne:  Goodbye 2024.  Jeepers…  Yummy Human seems worried.  If we play our cards right, we might get double treats. Velma:  Why is she worried?  Maybe she needs to buy more giggle water… that way I get to see the FedEx man. Daphne:  You’re fickle. You used to be in love with the UPS man.  He was a lot more handsome.

Velma & Daphne watching the New Year arrive

Velma:  What can I say?  Baby I was born this way. Hey, I think I see the New Year coming.  I wonder what it will bring. Daphne:  Tuna, I hope.  And freeze-dried chicken bits. Velma:  What about your salmon?  Talk about fickle.

I can’t start the New Year without the obligatory shameless self-promotion.

LOL. I hope the new year brings tuna to the Scoobies and a whole lot of creative fun to you, Teagan. Happy New Year.

    1. Haha. Don’t tell Daphne, but it’s all part of my devious plan. They’re only about 2 years old, and Daphne went from being under-weight to being a little plump. Plus she’s not fond of exercise. Add to that she mostly eats dry food — which has more calories than wet food. Even though she isn’t crazy about wet food, she does like salmon and tuna. So giving it as a treat 1) gets her to eat more “wet food” and 2) it’s fewer calories. Happy New Year. Hugs.

  2. Wishing you, Velma and Daphne a bright and beautiful New Year, Teagan! 2025 will be what it will be, but we can hope for a good one! You are right, it can’t take our imagination away.

Our Wynken cat has made it into the new year. She was diagnosed with nasal lymphoma and has been in chemotherapy since December 4th. She is responding well and the tumor is shrinking. I am pinning many hopes on this new year.
