Welcome, all. There won’t be a serial episode this weekend (or week). I hope to have it finished by next weekend. That will be the final episode of The Dance of Discord. I planned to add several more twists and turns to the tale, building on the intrigue. However, writing this serial has been taking 100% of my writing time and basically all of my creative time in general. This morning, I admitted to myself that I can’t do anything else while this serial is going, and I have novels I want to finish. So, I’ll have to find a way to wrap up the story as it is.

Daphne: Yummy Human, I’m not upside down — you are!
Meanwhile the Scoobies hope to entertain you today.
Daphne singing: His nip was strong so he needed proof. He saw her bathing on the roof. And from his lips she drew the Me-ee-Ow-ow!

Velma: You got the words wrong, Daphne. I’ve heard Yummy Human sing that song for Karaoke lots of times. There’s not a meow in it.
Daphne: Ph-leeze... What do you know? Besides I was Leonard Cohne’s muse— Don’t tell me the song is older than us by a bunch of decades. Time is not linear. At least not today.

Daphne: Umm… missed a toe… Now where was I? Oh yeah. Well I’ve been in this litter box before. I’ve scratched the sand and knocked it to the floor. But love is not a victory zoom, it’s a loud and undulating me-ow!
Velma: Mr. Cohen, I apologize on behalf of my sister. Daphne, are you finished with your bath yet? You might have missed a single hair on one of your toes…

Daphne: Well, for Bastet’s sake. You don’t have to get hissy about it, Velma. Yes, thank you very much. Each and every little toe is perfect now. And what do you know about Karaoke? You run out of the room every time Yummy sings it, just like I do. Girl’s got some pipes. You can hear her halfway to Chihuahua, Mexico.
Velma: Chihuahua? I thought that was a dog.
Daphne: If you sat in the hammock next to Yummy Human’s desk while she writes as often as I do, then you might learn some more words too. Stop rolling your eyes. Oh, no… You aren’t going to jump on me! YUMMY HUMAN!!!!!! Velma’s picking on meeeeee! Well, maybe Bastet is above, but all I’ve ever learned of love is how to try to get away from Velma…

Velma: (singing) Yes it IS a cry that you hear at night. It’s not a tomcat’s meow at the light. You’d better run just because, hallelujah!
If you didn’t catch on to Daphne’s mini parody above, here’s Pentatonix singing Hallelujah.

I am serializing, a novel on substack, without much of an audience. I’m wondering if I should move it here. Https:// marolitango.substack.com

Welcome, John. I haven’t used Substack, so I can’t compare the two. So let me say… that depends on your objective. I’ve done at least ten long-running serial stories on this blog. Serials build up my following, and get more comments than any other kind of post I might do. However, the book versions of the stories don’t sell. I guess it’s the old “free milk and a cow” thing. Good luck. Hugs.

I suppose I can not sell books on one platform as well as the other. Thank you for the reply. Good luck!

(Shrugs) I can only speak to my own experience. Over the years, I’ve seen a few authors use their blogs to serialize books they’ve written. (My serials are written spontaneously each week.) I have no way of knowing whether or not blogging as a serial was to their advantage when they published the book for sale.
Perhaps it would be different for me if I had an equal-sized following on a second platform, where they had not seen the same story basically being given away each week. But building a second following would take all my writing time. Cheers.

Bond is also quite meticulous with his toe cleaning, lol. We’ll have three cats for the next couple months. Catticus and Cleo (Son #2 and his GF’s cats) moved in over the weekend. Things are peaceful….. so far.

Teri, they just crack me up with the toe cleaning. You have a veritable clowder of cats now. How wonderful that it’s going well! Big hugs.

LOL, those kitties always get the lion’s share of my attention, Noelle. I just hope to be able to finish a couple of nearly done novels that are important to me. 🐱 But those stories are beside the point until I wrap up this one. Yesterday everything that could go wrong did (technology wise and chores-wise). Hugs.

Yes, it is, Noelle — thank you. I just now finished the conclusion of The Dance of Discord. The post will be ready for the weekend!

I am home from five days in the hospital for abdominal surgery – it was scary – recovery is up and down, but my blogging buddies keep my spirits up and are my lifeline during a long recovery.

Horsefeathers! I had no idea you had been ill, Noelle. I’m sorry. Yes, I would have been scared out of my mind. Recovery is slow, even just from the anesthesia, not to mention the operation. Be patient and kind with yourself. Sending you a gigantic hug. ❤

Thanks for the encouragement, Teagan. I need more people telling me to take my time and not rush the recovery. I am not a patient patient!
Hugs to you and the Scoobies

Velma and Daphne are a wonderful pair of kitties, Teagan! I enjoyed their dialog. Daphne reminds me of our Nod with her meticulous toe cleaning. Nod is an avid (and audible) cleaner of her own toes, hooking a fang in to clean the groves thoroughly.

Haha! They are kindred souls then, Lavinia. I get so tickled at Daphne. I ask her if her toes are really that delicious. She was basically sprawled on her back in that hammock as if it was a bathtub. Then when she stretched up a back foot to get to the toes, I just cracked up.
By the way, I finally finished the video for my White Rabbit cover. I’ll post it either Sunday afternoon or Monday.
Heartfelt thanks for commenting. Hugs.

Velma and Daphne have lot of fun, evidently, and they’ve learned plenty (and taught you a few tricks, I’m sure). Very funny post, and I can’t imagine how long it might take you to get one of the posts for the serial ready. I remember trying to put a circle on top of a line (I kid you not!) for the on-line design course I did, and it took me two hours the first time I tried (and it wasn’t even straight!), so I would never manage. And getting all the elements in the story… Looking forward to the final episode of the serial. Take care, big hugs, and love to the Scoobies. Ah, and keep cool! It’s getting very hot here!

Heartfelt thanks for this wonderful supportive comment, Olga. I hope it doesn’t get too hot there — especially where there isn’t refrigerated air conditioning… Take care. Big hugs.

Certainly cats are more intelligent than humans. Except for the human who just posted pentonix hallejuhah.

Thanks, Tim. That was looking like a one-cat song, but I finally managed to bring Velma into it too. LOL, Daphne was enjoying her bath way too much.
I’m hoping to get my White Rabbit video finished this weekend. Thanks again for putting the tracks together for me. Hugs.

Thanks, John. Daphne bathing in that hammock and clearly enjoying herself was so funny. I had the idea that she imagined herself as Bathsheba. Happy weekend hugs.

I completely understand the time crunch. There’s never enough and we have to make priorities. I look forward to finding out how you tie things up. (K)

Thanks, Kerfe. I might not be able to do as tidy of a job tying everything up as I’d like. Although it hasn’t really gone far enough to have a lot of threads to tie off. Have a good weekend. Hugs.
