I’m chatting with Resa McConaghy about “The Delta Pearl” and Art Gowns, and all sorts of things.  Some of you have already been to her amazing post, and I am grateful.

Her post was so wonderful that I had to create a steampunk gown for Resa. I hope she likes it.

  1. Wow. This looks like a club. 😉 Many known people. How did I miss your blog? Or maybe I haven’t. Sometimes one forgets… (Where are my memory pills?)

    Nice post. I’ll hop back to Resa’s in a minute. GP just suggested I “send” you my latest post. But I normally don’t put links in other people’s blogs. Or hesitate to invite to visit? That could be kind of akward… Well, post is fresh out of the oven. I’d be honoured if you dropped by (Then blame GP…LOL)

    1. Ha! That’s funny, because I never did clubs or cliques — I never was the popular one. Maybe I just don’t play that well with others.   5. I really enjoyed this interview, Teagan.
    Resa’s questions are very interesting and your answers are wonderful and creative.
    You introduced me to Resa some time ago and I’ve been following her for a while now and I find her clothes to be incredible works of art.

    LOVE me in a steampunk gown. On top, it’s Irish steampunk.

    McConaghy?…. I wonder; what is part of my cultural heritage make-up? LOL

    1. I’m so happy you like the image, Resa. I took one of the gown images (that I did not send you), cut it into a few pieces so that I could add your face, and then blended the edges in Photoshop.

  13. I’ve followed Resa for a while now and her gowns are amazing works of art. Your tribute is a perfect example of the skill and talent that goes into Resa’s creative world. I am a huge fan of steampunk art and I can see you have mastered it. Now that I have rediscovered your magical corner of WP, I see a vast treasure chest to rummage around in.

      I’m thrilled you have found Teagan’s sanctuary, again.

      Thank you about my Art Gowns. The best is that I make them from textile trash and cast offs. The new gown has added to that, as it is being made from “Textile treasure”.

      Do rummage here! It’s fun.

        1. I haven’t seen this one, but I’ve seen many reports on textile landfill.

          Pollution from textiles is #2 next to plastic. That is because natural fabrics are cut with synthetics rendering them a burden in the green cycle.

          AND It’s not just going into our landfills.

          There’s the processing chemicals and dyes that use water in our textiles. Also when we launder our clothes, micro plastics from the synthetics rinse into our water.

          The following is just for a pair of 100% cotton jeans. Which, if they are cut with stretch use more water, & pollute more because natural fabrics blended with synthetics, are not easily biodegradable, or reprocessed. (Which also pollutes with chemicals)

          “It takes in average 1500 gallons of water to produce a single pair of blue jeans. That includes growing the cotton and the manufacturing, but it doesn’t include the water that you’ll use to wash your jeans over time. One third of the water needed to make a pair of jeans is used to grow the plants (e.g. cotton).“

          I’m a fashionista who says “It’s not about how often you change styles & clothes, but how having a personal style and respecting clothes changes you.”

          I’m still perfecting that statement.

      2. And that makes your art gowns even more precious and amazing, Resa. I imagine you are able to see well past the cast off fabrics to something even more exciting than they were in their fresh fashion days.

    2. Welcome back to the Teagan Zone, Daniel. I like the idea of this blog being a treasure chest — thank you. I’m trying to put the finishing touches on “bookizing” the Cornelis Drebbel story (where you left some reader things), although competing priorities keep getting in the way. Also, I’m almost ready to publish a Steam Era tech nonfiction book. I need to catch up at your new blog. Have a relaxing weekend. Hugs.

They always seem perfect, whether you’re substituting a famous actor/actress or creating something out of the blue. You introduced me to Resa, and I am grateful for that.
