Update/Note:  Since I usually do a weekend post, I’m adding this message, just in case anyone wonders.  I’m giving myself a little blog break for the weekend.  Happy August, everyone.

I am deeply honored to get these book reviews from Olga Núñez Miret on each book in the Delta Pearl duology.  Her insights and the mindful way in which she presents reviews always awe me.

Usually, when I reblog someone’s post, I close the comments at my blog.  However, Olga has a lot going on, and is keeping her comments closed for possibly the rest of the summer.  So, I’m risking opening comments here. I say “risk” because I very much hope you will read her post. Click the big link below.

Never underestimate the importance of great reviews to authors — or our appreciation for them.   I’m also thrilled by reviews from Robbie Cheadle and Colleen Chesebro.  My gratitude to Robbie and Colleen.  However, I was able to field comments at their posts, so I wanted to share Olga’s here.

Thanks for spending time here and at these other wonderful blogs.  Friendly comments are welcome.

  1. What lovely reviews, Teagan. Olga’s reviews are treats. I loved how personal they were, not just about these books, but about your series in general, but how they came about. I’m glad you shared them. Huge Congrats.

    1. Yay! Steampunk is often a dark genre with a “sooty” appearance, fitting for all the coal-created steam that powered the Steam Eera. However, I needed to surround myself with the beauty of the Victorian and Steam Eras, so the Delta Pearl is a world of opulence. I hope you love it, Noelle. Big hugs.

  2. Teagan, I enjoyed these books so much. I love your imagination. The Delta Pearl was a marvelous creation. I look forward to more steampunk novels from you. You have a knack for that era. Keep adding all those magical touches to your books. I’m a fan. 💖

    1. Colleen, you were the first to review this story, and I can’t tell you how much I appreciate it. 😍

Yes, I have another steampunk book (a large one) coming soon. I had been holding it back since 2015, because I wanted to finish a second book for the main character, but who knows when that will happen. Thanks for reading and commenting. Hugs.

  3. Olga’s review is fantastic! I haven’t read your Delta Pearl books, but Olga really captures the spirit of your stories that I have read. Lots of whimsy and magic. Congratulations on the reviews! 🌞

    1. I’m still giddy from Olga’s review, Dave. I was the same way with your review of Hullaba Lulu. It was fun to create Lulu’s belching lack of inhibition. The Delta Pearl’s world was fun in an almost opposite way. I got to imagine all the mysterious opulence. Thanks for reading Olga’s post and for commenting. Hugs.

    1. Hi, GP. I’m glad I could help you get acquainted with Olga. I wish I could write the kind of mindful reviews she creates. However, I have to stick close to a simple method suggested by Chris Graham — just mention one thing that you really liked. Anyhow, I expect Olga will open comments on her new posts once summer is over. There are some interesting discussions there. Hugs.

    1. Hi, Kevin. Thanks. LOL, I was beginning to wonder myself. I spent over 8 months making 150 pictures for an illustrated version. (They were computer generated images (CGIs), but still a lot of work.) And reformatting the manuscript to allow placement of the images. Then just as I was nearly finished, Amazon instigated a new policy that didn’t allow for any “AI” content or covers — that included CGIs. Aside from being sad and discouraged, I had to go through and redo the formatting yet again. Thanks for visiting. Hugs.

    1. Thanks, Tim. To me, this was one of my best (maybe the best) stories, not just for the imagination, but for everything I layered into it. So reviews like these really means a lot to me. Thanks for reading and commenting, and for your support. Hugs from the Scoobies and me.

  4. I read Olga’s post and I wanted to thank her for helping to spread the word. Her review was excellent. I loved the serial and I waited patiently for it to be put in book form. I’ll be offering my review after I return from a blog break.

  5. Really Teagan, Olga did a wonderful review and all around post. Congratulations!

IMO, none of the praise is overstated. I did follow the serial, and am about a third into the second book.

Enjoyment is the main word. Thank you so much!

    Hugs!

    1. Resa, I’m honored that you are reading the books. You left several fabulous “random reader things” for the serial version. “Gibson girl hairdo” and “Pince-nez” both helped solidify the Eliza character in my mind. And Jet helped inspire the apprentice librarian character.
Thank you for your kind words about Olga’s review, and for visiting there. Big hugs winging back to you.

      1. Ahh, I might be able to use that in my review.

I also have a couple of questions for when I’m doing it, so will send an email!
Yes, Olga did an excellent article on. you & the books. Wonderful!
        Hugs!

        1. A review? Now I’m really psyched. 😀 My Internet problems aren’t getting in the way of email as much as blogs and video, so feel free to email whatever questions you have. I’m happy to answer.
Thanks so much for reading and commenting. Big hugs winging back to you.

  6. I’ve been wondering why Olga comments have been closed. I must have missed the reason behind that when I was offline for a couple of months during my house move. I love her post! This was an excellent review by her, too. Teagan, are you going to make any of your books on audio?

    1. Hi, Samantha. I agree, and frankly, I’m honored by her review.
It’s funny that you should ask about audio books. I love them, especially because my eyes get tired so quickly now. I’ve always wanted to narrate one of my books, but I guess I’m more focused on writing. Rebecca Budd recently asked me to read one of my short stories for her blog. It’s here:

  7. Thanks, Teagan. You’re very kind sharing them here. I had a great time with the stories, and they were perfect to send me on a trip, especially this summer when I’m stuck at home. I enjoyed the story even more the second time around. I hope a lot of readers discover them and have as much fun as I did. Big hugs to you and love to Daphne and Velma!

    1. Olga, you amaze me with your mindful, reviews. The things you bring out without giving spoilers, and the insights you include… In addition to being a wonderful author, you have an exceptional talent for writing reviews. Thank you again.
