For those of you who are relatively new here, I’m the founder of “The Three Things Method of Storytelling.” I established this blog by writing serial stories where I ask readers to leave three random things, which drive the spontaneously written, utterly unplanned stories. In return I feature links to that blogger when their things show up in an episode. Plus, it lets the reader take an active part in the storytelling.
My current serial, The Armadillo Files will end in five weeks. (Characters behind the door above: front row left to right: Henry Apesley (hiding behind the wall), feline pilots Peggy Sue and Frances, & 3 of the 40 ferrets. Back row: Fang, Dilly, Ali Baba (behind window), and Sesame the giantess (in window above door).
Call for Images & Photos

Rather than jump right into a new serial, as I usually do, I’ve decided to do something different for a while. This time, instead of putting out a call for “things,” I’m calling out to photographers and artists. I’ll do short stories, but in a “3 things” way.
I’m asking photographers and artists to send me three images that will prompt and illustrate a story. I’d like these to be somewhat related. (With the serial “things” I ask that they be utterly random and unrelated to each other. However, the randomness does not work for what I have in mind for the image driven short stories.)
You do not need a blog to participate! I know some of my readers don’t blog. You are still welcome to send images.
You do not need to be a professional photographer or artist.
Also, vintage photos are good too.
You can leave a comment with links to where your images are posted, or email me the links.
Or we can email each other for images.
Remember, this is a G-rated blog. Nudes and explicit images will not be accepted.

What a great idea! Images can be so inspirational when writing. I’m getting ready to look up images of a town my sister-in-law visited. Think it could fit into my current WIP.

Beautiful doors, Teagan.
Oboy, 3 related images… I’m sure to send some. Great Idea. No end to creativity on this blog.

Oh excellent, Resa! I was hoping you would. They don’t have to be closely related. But I intend them to illustrate whatever single story they inspire. (Whereas the “random reader things” for my serials work better as unrelated things that keep the story moving.) Huge thanks for commenting. Hugs on the wing!

They are both image collages, Emille. The first one has many more parts though. Thanks for opening this door. Big hugs.

I gladly did (open that door:)) Hugs back. Am getting used to hugs in TX. Because of my previous job in California, I only gave and got a handshake … different culture:).

Moving to a non-hugging area like NM, was huge culture shock for me the first time I lived here. LOL. Of course COVID has impacted the hugging though. I don’t think it will ever be as big of a thing as it once was.

Haha, am glad I am not the only one. Does NM stand for New Mexico or New Hampshire?

NM is the state abbreviation for New Mexico. 🙂

After taking such a break for finishing Dead of Winter, it doesn’t feel to me that the serial has been going as long as it has. But it will be 35 episodes total, and that’s right about average for my serials. Oddly that isn’t planned… it just works out that way. 🙂

That’s interesting. I notice the same thing with book length. It always comes out about the same, regardless of the story. Hmmm.

I love the composite image for the Armadillo Files at the top of the post. It’s great to see the main characters all in one place (well, only a few of the ferrets, but, otherwise there wouldn’t have been space for anybody else)! Now we know this serial is coming to an end as well, so it’s a bit sad, but I am very intrigued about your new project, and I hope to discover the work of plenty of artists and photographers, and also see what some friends are working on. Good luck and thanks, Teagan. I’ll share it around!

Haha! There would have been ferrets in every nook and cranny! Hugs on the wing.
