#NewBook, “Dead of Winter: Journey 14 the conclusion — & Armadillo Files Reminder

Saturday, June 18, 2022

The Journeys of “Dead of Winter” have reached the conclusion.  Next weekend The Armadillo Files will return.  So, if you need to refresh your memory before the next bit of zaniness with Fang and Dilly, go to the categories on the right side of the screen.  Click on Armadillo Files.

Since so many author friends are launching books this month, I didn’t give the conclusion to Dead of Winter the attention it deserves.  But you can help me by reblogging my announcement post (not this one you’re reading).

To reblog,  Just click here.  At the bottom of your screen look for the three dots . . . beside “Follow.”  Click the dots.  You’ll see an option for “View Post in Reader.”  Click that.  Then scroll to the bottom of the post, within the Reader, and you’ll find a “SHARE” option.  Click the < symbol, and then choose your blog.  Then on the upper right of your screen, see the blue Publish button.

If you didn’t read my announcement post, here’s the same information.

All the Journeys

Blurb

From the very beginning, a prophecy from a creepy voice threaded throughout this story.  “Winter is coming!” it warned.  As the Journeys progressed, we became aware of additional related prophesies like one of the “lost white brother” and “the frozen sands.”  Both of those are touched on in this concluding novella.

Other threads from the previous thirteen Journeys also come together in this volume, which concludes Dead of Winter.

I see this conclusion as a two-part ending.  Without giving spoilers, the first brings the action to a head and resolves that aspect.

The second is much more than an epilogue.  It resolves the issue of the destroyed Veil which separated the Realm of the Living from the Realm of the Dead.  Because many readers said they don’t want these Journeys to end, in the final chapter, I added hints about potential future adventures for many of the characters.  These are not to suggest sequels. Rather, it’s food for the imagination of readers, so that the story can continue in the mind.

This has been as much of a “journey” for me as it was for Emlyn.  I’ve seen truths about myself along the way.  Perhaps the same applies to you.

“Who can say?  What is true for us?  That with which we are born?  Or that which is the manifestation of our heart and soul?  I like who and what I am, as well as the way I see the world I see around me, when I am a dragon.” — Thyrus the Listener

Thank you for being an important part of the Journeys of Dead of Winter.

This book is important to me, but I’m not able to do a proper launch for it and compete with the flood of new books.  So, I invite and encourage reblogging of this post.

Congratulations to Teagan who has finished the 14 Journeys through her “Dead of Winter” serial. You may have already congratulated her, but if not head over to this post on her blog and do so.
Or if you have never been to her blog, go there and check out what it’s all about.
View the 14 sumptuous book covers she has designed for the 14 Journeys!
I’ve had the delight of reading the first three Journeys, 2 of her short books, and have followed several of her free serials. Teagan is an excellent +++ writer!

    1. I’m so glad that someone finally noticed that quote — and liked it, Pat. At first it was just a way for Thyrus to hedge Emlyn’s question. Then when I read it, I knew that it was a part of me. Thanks for hosting me at your place today. Hugs on the wing.

    1. It really did feel like a journey to me too, Priscilla. I hope you love the conclusion. Where the Journeys gradually had more new material added (from the 2010 original), this one is all new except for about 4 pages. Have a good weekend. Hugs on the wing.

Teagan Geneviene shares the news about the conclusion of Dead of Winter, already available, and she announces that her serial The Armadillo Files will be back next Saturday. Good news all round!

  4. Thanks, Teagan. I am looking forward to reading Journey 14 (I should get to it in the next couple of days, hopefully), and I am also looking forward to the Armadillo Files, although you deserve a bit of a break after such hard work. Big hugs and enjoy the weekend!

    1. Thanks so much, Olga. I did a huge amount of cleanup and editing after that advance read I sent you. So it’s as well that you haven’t gotten to it yet.
I think the Armadillo Files is getting close to a conclusion too. Hugs winging back to you.
