Dead of Winter: Journey 3, The Fever Field
Dead of Winter: Journey 3, The Fever Field

You know what they say about “the best laid plans of mice and (wo)men…”  I wanted to announce “Dead of Winter: Journey 3, The Fever Field” and schedule the post for my usual Wednesday slot at midnight Eastern Time.  Unfortunately, my life has been ruled by Murphy’s Law this week, and Amazon publishing, and slow Internet were Murphy’s allies.

Happily, the multi-talented author, Roberta Eaton Cheadle has helped me out by adding the cover reveal and the Kindle purchase link for Journey 3 to her amazing review of Journey 2!

“Murphy” is still staring me down, ready to wreak havoc with my Wednesday.  So, I’m not doing much of an announcement. However, I will say that Journey 3, the Fever Field is the most exciting installment so far! Here are purchase links, including the paperback (which was not yet available when Robbie so kindly looked up the link herself to add it to her post).  Kobo is yet to come, but I can’t fight that battle with Murphy right now.  Please do visit Robbie.  Hugs on the wing!

  1. Ok, so I have been a little slow finishing “2”, but am now almost there. That said, I have already downloaded 3 and look forward to starting it! Can’t say it enough….love your writing…awesome work!

  2. Just finished reading the 3rd Journey and it is indeed a winner. I also love the mouse or gerbil in the above picture of the 3rd cover. I feel such a kinship with these women. Your imagination and storytelling skills are flowing strongly with this series. Can’t wait for Journey 4. Mystical hugs wafting your way.

    1. Thank you, Pat. I’m so very happy that you are part of these journeys.
LOL, when I said the word mouse, I knew I had to find one for an image. Whatever species that little guy might be, I thought he was cute. Hugs winging back to you.

  4. Teagan, congratulations on book three. I just ordered it and it will arrive in two days. I’m reading into it soon. Your Journey books are a delightful break from my final book editing. That time consuming step! Hugs, my friend. 🤗🎶💛

    1. Christine, I know you are up to the editing challenge. That was one of the several reasons why I chose to publish Dead of Winter in serial form. The prospect of editing about 850 pages was so daunting! This way I’m working in manageable chunks.
I’m so thankful you are part of these journeys, my friend. Hugs on the wing!

      1. Teagan, you are so smart to write the serial form—editing less at a time. This is my 3rd ms go through. I’m working with a screenwriter on editing. She edits my chapters and I edit her screenplay. You would be surprised how well this works out. She’s a master at getting rid of unneeded words. I seem to be able to put myself in her screenplay and tell her how to construct scenes, and dialogue. I actually learned how to write good dialogue from working with her on other screenplays. It’s so much fun working with another person as passionate about writing. Happy to be part of your journeys. Hugs,my friend. Christine📚❤️

        1. How cool, Christine! Thanks for sharing that. It sounds like a terrific collaboration. Last fall and winter I watched a YouTube series called Screen Courage, with various industry writers, and professors being interviewed. I really enjoyed the ones on dialogue. I watched at least one a day. Some of the speakers I didn’t click with, but there were a few that I really loved.
Changing Dead of Winter into a serial presentation does take quite a bit of rewriting. It’s not a simple matter of dividing it into sections — not to make a good serial. However, I’m really enjoying it.
          Stay happy and sassy!

          1. Thanks, Teagan for sharing your experience with collaboration. I works better for me than a critique group or even Beta readers (hard to find). I’m with you on the rewriting phase. It’s never ending. Yep, and enjoyable. Keep writing. Your Journey serial are lined up on my desk. Reading a few pages during editing break time. Hugs 🤗, Christine

    1. You are so kind, Michael — thank you. ❤ Please don't worry. The Journeys are not going away. Take your time and enjoy. It took me over two years to write this story, so you are plenty fast in reading. 🙂 Be well, be happy. Hugs on the wing!

  7. A fantastic review by Robbie, Teagan. She has an excellent taste and I couldn’t agree more with her comments about the story and the language. And, great news about the third journey, even with Murphy’s Law working against you. Congratulations on both counts, Teagan, and I don’t need to tell you I’m looking forward to the next leg of the journey. ♥

  8. I’m now envisioning Teagan putting her armor, drawing her sword and preparing for battle with Amazon and all the other members of Murphy’s army. You go girl!

I will be ordering this book today!

I hope the rest of your day and week goes well, Teagan.

    1. Haha. I think I’ll ask Tajin if I can borrow his macuahuitl. That ought to put the fear of somebody into them. One problem I mentioned to you offline has risen to new heights… Such is life — or it is when you’re me.
Thanks for your encouragement, Dan. I’m so happy you are part of these journeys. Hugs on the wing!

    1. It’s been one heck of a week already, Tim. Not all that “bad” exactly, but frustrations abound. I agreed to a “trade” (of a couple cacti) to get some work done to my cactus garden. That was supposed to begin a month from now. Suddenly, it’s this morning. And I’m not ready with stuff, and I’m sure not ready emotionally. Got to fly. Thanks for visiting. Hugs on the wing!
