You aren’t mistaken — this is an extra post from me this week.  Everyone has been so gracious and generous  with my book launch for Dead of Winter: Journey 1, Forlorn Peak that I’m bursting with gratitude… and blog posts. 

Thursday Doors

Thursday Doors is now hosted by Dan Antion.  Today Dan has done a truly marvelous Doors post inspired by Dead of Winter at his blog.  I do hope you’ll click over and visit.  The image above (or the photo part anyway) is just one of the wonderful photos he took in multiple photo-shoots for his post.  All the images reminded Dan of things in Journey 1, Forlorn Peak.  It means so very much to me when any reader thinks of my story after they have finished turning the pages of the book! Thank you, Dan!

I describe Dead of Winter as more of a fantasy that includes ghosts than an actual ghost story.  Author, Roberta Eaton Cheadle (known and loved as Robbie to many of us) has some truly scary ghosts.

Margaret goes to live with her grandfather at his ancient inn.  Phantoms congregate at the inn, hoping she can free them from the clutches of Hugh Bigod, the 12th century ghost who has drawn them away from Heaven’s White Light in his canine guise.

Some horrifying stuff is all too real.  Mark Bierman penned a story of tragedy and heartache.  How much more can Tyler Montgomery and John Webster take? This missions trip, the “healing” one, has only added fresh layers of pain. Construction of an orphanage in Haiti’s northwest . . . yes. But a doomed rescue operation, human traffickers, human anomalies, extreme personal danger . . . risk of death? They hadn’t signed up for those.  Turning their backs on the crisis, however, is unthinkable, it’s just not who they are.

  4. What a great variation for Thursday’s Doors. For a long time, love the way authors promote each other on blogs. Very impressive. …. and thanks for the nice comment on Dan’s end … I like to respond to those who take the time, but my time got away from me. And thanks for visiting Beach Walk Reflections.   5. Ooo! All my favourites all together! I LOVED A36 and Nethergate, and I have Vanished waiting on my Kindle. All I need to do to finish my wander through all the magical doors, is pop over to the shop and grab Dead of Winter 🙂

  18. It was fun to combine Thursday Doors with Teagan’s Books. The scenes you created are so vivid in my mind that it was easy to find places that “match” those images. Thanks for mentioning the other authors. There are some books in there I need to add to my reading list.

    1. Dan, I didn’t think anything could be better than the Doors you did of “Atonement, TN”… but you have outdone yourself with that post! I’m thrilled. If I can’t get my act together to write the next Delta Pearl, I will repress it Saturday.
