Pirates about to enter door by Teagan via Night Cafe
Pirates at museum door by Teagan via Night Cafe

Hello, everyone.   Today I’m announcing my own little book.  It’s my latest non-fiction “Speak” book.  I started it a couple of years ago, with a push from the fun yearly event International Talk Like a Pirate Day (this year it’s Sept. 19th).  So, I’m happy to announce a new dictionary:

Speak Pirate: Guide to the Slang of Pirates and Buccaneers

To celebrate I’m popping the cork on some champagne grog, and taking us to some pirate museums.  And I feel my inner pirate taking over… ahem… ahem… Aaarrrrr!

All hands on deck!  Weigh anchor, me hearties!

Our first stop is the state of Florida, a well-known destination to many a pirate. Them there’s some nice French doors behind that balcony, and a fine Jolly Roger.

That West Indies sun is so bright that I can’t make out the door on our next stop.  But that surely be a fine door on the church across the road.

Batten down the hatches, there be a squall blowing up.  We’ll go inside or awhile.  Well, blimey!  Did ye ever see the like?  A ship inside a shopping mall.  Eerrrmmm… What’s a shopping mall?  I don’t be seein’ any doors, but there must be a power o doors somewhere in there.

Yesterday I shared a post from Dan Antion where he also announced a new release, although his is a full-length mystery novel.  Mine new one is only guidebook-size, somewhere around 50 pages.  Just the right size for you to learn the lingo in time for Talk Like a Pirate Day.  Anyhow, one of me buckos already got himself a copy of Dan’s new book.  He’s mighty proud of it.
