Hello, everyone. Don’t bother with that mask — germs don’t spread via computer. At least not yet. All week, I’ve been down with an allergy/asthma/cold thing. Granted, after a solid week of dust-storms before that, I guess it was inevitable. I feel like crap (on and off), and well… I feel just bad enough to be really pissed off about it. You know?
Yes, I said allergy. While most of the USA has been truly suffering from way, way, way too much snow, where I am tree pollen is registering as “high.” Plus, the weeds are already knee-high. WHO threw the calendar into the spin-cycle of the washing machine? WHAT is it — about 20 more days until it’s actually spring? WHEN are we, again? WHERE’s the switch for my air conditioner, because it’s 83 degrees (F)? More importantly, WHY can’t I get my energy back?
With those eternal questions in mind, I thought we could just do an Energy Oracle card reading today.

My “go to” card spread (the various layouts of cards in readings are called spreads) is a simple three-card reading. The questions posed to the three cards are usually Past, Present, and Future, or similar. However, I prefer to use the three questions you’ll see below.
Sometimes I start that by making a scattered pile like you see in the first the photo above — and then collecting them.
If you like (it depends on one’s need) you can add the preliminary step of selecting a significator. For that, I typically look through all the cards and pick one that suits my personality or mood. Although it’s okay to draw one randomly. That significator card represents the querant (the person asking the question). Adding a significator card can help increase one’s focus, or make the reading feel more personal — because using it insists that the meanings for cards in the reading also apply back to the significator card. Here, I drew the “Door to Spirit” card as my significator. Despite what I said about looking at the cards when I pick the significator, I drew it at random, just because I wasn’t feeling 100%. It fit my thoughts well enough, so I kept it.

Door to Spirit meaning: This door opens to unlimited potential. It is about spiritual awakenings and new beginnings.
I leave the significator card out of the deck when I draw the other cards for a reading. Rather than shuffling, I treat all of my cards gently, preferring to “cut” the deck multiple times and in random ways. When the cards are mixed enough, I cut it the deck into three approximately equal stacks.
With me, readings are always about guidance or meditation, and never about predicting the future. (I feel that the countless details that compose the future are in constant flux.) Also, readings are about intent, so they can be done on behalf of other people. While this reading is for me, my intent was for it to include everyone here as the querant, for your benefit/use as well.
Also, as we proceed, you will see that the meaning of each card ties to the meaning of other cards to provide answers to the questions.
Shall we begin?
What is unknown about the current situation?
With this question, I begin by taking a moment to feel “grounded” in the broader perspective of what is going on in my life and the people who impact it — not simply about whatever is on my mind. What’s on my mind? I expect that most of you can relate. If you can, then this is also your reading, not just mine.
The question/subject of the reading: the need for energy of various kinds.

Woman Holding a Heart
Various people are reading this post, and the card has more than one meaning. Depending on who you are, the card represents receptivity for love, or being in a state of peaceful emotion, or that a family matter will resolve. Since my significator card is about new beginnings and spiritual awakenings, I combine the meanings of the two cards along with intuition from the images on the cards. There is symmetry in the shape of the woman’s face and headpiece with that of the heart she holds. That’s a reminder to keep a balance — to balance receptivity and rationality, but also keep the spiritual door open to awareness.
What are the obstacles?
Yin/Yang

The obstacle in question is a need for balance. The Yin/Yang card is about passive/active and intuitive/logical. (Yeesh… is the concept of “balance” being hammered into this reading?) It represents lifecycles of energy. It’s meant to help us “identify the particular cyclic energy moving into or out of your experience.”
The card also indicates a “yin cycle” where most of what’s going on, is happening under the surface. That means the obstacle in our question, has to do with a need to look deeper. This involves using a little self-analysis about the things represented in Woman Holding a Heart — then try again to pinpoint what sort of “receptivity” you will allow yourself — and look again at what sorts of “energies” are moving in or leaving.
How to proceed for best results?
Financial Constraints

This is a great example of how important the images on cards are to a reading. A good deck should have a richly detailed image for each card. Does it feel like a card’s meaning just doesn’t quite fit? That it’s out of synch with the rest of the reading? If so, then move your attention to the artwork on the card. For you, perhaps the stated card meaning feels spot-on for how to proceed. Of course, this specific card is about making financially responsible decisions, as well as being cautious about how you might use money in the search for balance, receptivity, awakening spiritually, or resolving a family issue. And that’s sound advice.
However, if you were like me, and when you saw this card you felt sort of like you walked face-first into a doorframe, then add a healthy dose of intuition to the card’s meaning. Look closely at the artwork and let the image provide the meaning of the card. On the surface (and remember that it was previously suggested that we look deeper than the surface), it looks like a big caution because of that very small amount of money as compared to the size of the nearly empty safe. There isn’t much balance in that, is there? And look at all those cobwebs. How long has that been locked up and unreceptive? So, back to the question…
How to proceed for best results?
You might feel that the resolution to your issue involves giving and or spending. If that’s the case, then that’s fine, but don’t go wild with it.
On the other hand, you don’t find balance in denying yourself too much either. You are deserving too.
The door to your finances doesn’t need to be wide open, but the “Door to Spirit” definitely does. Use the two to balance each other.
Open the door to that inner “safe” where you’ve stored certain parts of yourself. You’ve been hiding a part of yourself in there for too long.
Be willing to receive. That’s right — manifest like a goddess and receive like a queen.
Affirmation
“I can move through any cycle with dignity and awareness. I am open to receiving increasing wealth. Money moves to my life, bringing benefits to all.” — Sandra Anne Taylor.

Hey there, Scoobies. Why didn’t you participate in this reading?

Velma (left): What? We’re taking a break.
Daphne (right): Yeah. We’ve been taking care of Yummy Human all week. And before you ask, I have a floofy bed like Velma’s too. Actually, I have two of them, but I don’t like them. Excuse us. We’re going back to our morning nap now.
Velma: Isn’t this our afternoon nap? It’s hard to tell the difference… Maybe it’s our pre-dinner nap…
