Hello, everyone. Did the post title hook you? Zany though it may be, zap, pow, and especially oooof reflect what’s happening. This is just a note about the non-creative side of my writing process.

You see, Amazon/KDP publishing sent me notice that they were changing their policies (again), this time about paperback book “publishing costs” and royalties. As if the cost of production was impacted by the (already extremely low) percentage of royalties paid to authors. I won’t go into that hypocrisy…
Anyhow, they gave me a list that included almost every paperback I’ve ever published, stating that my books no longer meet their new minimum prices.
I’ve fought to keep the paperbacks at the lowest price for years. The royalty amounts I allow myself are sincerely pocket change — less when the government stops making the penny. So…
