Hello, everyone. Today I have random whatnots about Lulu.
Have you met Lulu? She’s a wonderfully uninhibited flapper in the Diesel Era of the 1920s. Whenever she’s around, you’re likely to hear the words “Don’t touch that, Lulu!” because she’s also very klutzy.
Lulu is also a great dancer. She’s been all over the place lately, doing the Charleston and the Lindy Hop and the Camel Walk, because she’s so excited about two recent reviews she’s gotten.
Nigel Byng wrote a dazzling review of Lulu’s first book, Hullaba Lulu: a Diesel-Punk Adventure. I hope you’ll click over and meet Nigel.
Video trailer for Hullaba Christmas
Also, recently Robbie Cheadle did a lovely review of Lulu’s holiday novella, Hullaba Christmas: Lulu and the Snatched Santa. Robbie’s post contains a lot of fun stuff besides her review, so don’t miss it.

Lulu’s Favorites
In addition to dancing Lulu has some favorite things, particularly when it comes to food or drink. Her cocktail of choice is a bloody mary — with a bowl of horseradish on the side.
Despite her predilection for hooch, she enjoys Yoohoo chocolate soda. In the 1920s pineapples were hard to get and “new”. Lulu thinks a pineapple upside down cake is swell. And cheeseburgers… don’t forget the cheeseburgers.
Lulu also has her own fashion sense. She likes to put on the Ritz, and she has been known to wear evening or formalwear regardless of the time of day.
I wrote a scene at the beginning of Hullaba Lulu: a Diesel-Punk Adventure that shows a snapshot of her personality by c0mparing her reaction to those of her two friends.
Excerpt
I turned toward the back of the club, looking at the emergency exit. Red and blue lights blazed from around the edges of the door. I heard the screech of the subway train stopping. The emergency door burst open.
Spots danced before my eyes. All I could make out was a pair of pointy toed patent leather shoes. When my vision cleared, I beheld a man as stunningly handsome as the Sheik of Araby.
Pearl gave a fearful little shriek.
Rose made a dramatic gasp that would have pleased Cecil B. DeMille.
“He looks just like Valentino!” Rose and Pearl exclaimed in chorus.
I hiccupped.
End of snippet.
Not long after that, she belched… And then there was the episode with all those cheeseburgers…

That’s all for this Whatnot Wednesday. Wishing you— What, Daphne?
“Yummy Human, how could you show Velma’s picture without posting one of me? (huffs in frustration) My feelings are so hurt that… that I just can’t even be in the room with you right now…”

As I was saying, wishing you an easy coast down the other side of this midweek hump. Hugs!

Hi, Resa. Her flapper dress was even closer to the one on the first book cover than I hoped. Lulu wouldn’t be so thin, but otherwise I was very happy with how the image turned out. Have a fabulous Friday. Gingle-hugs winging back to you.

Nigel’s review is very impressive! I’ve shared it on Blusky. The Hullaba Christmas video is very catching, suggestive of the fun to be found in the book. I had to chuckle at the photo of Daphne giving you the butt to share her displeasure. Two of our dogs would do that, too.

Yay! Darlene, that’s music to my ears. I hope you love the story. It’s a little more traditionally Christmas themed that anything else I’ve written for a holiday. Lulu is so much fun to write. Ah, to be so uninhibited! Big thanks for reading and commenting. Hugs.

Oh know! Those evil corporate types. I’m happy that Lulu and the angel bots are on the case.

LOL. The villains are kind of corporate, but they’re political too. It took me two years to finish that story, and that might be why. No dastardly dude can stand against Lulu and the angel-bots.
I hope you and Laurie are over those colds and both feeling fine. Hugs to all the crew.

Congratulations on the reviews, Teagan. The trailer is terrific, and it was great to see Lulu again. Bloody Marys and horseradish—that sounds delightful. Daphne and Velma are a great addition to any post, and I can see why excluding one would cause a little rift in the household. Hugs to you all.

Congratulations on the excellent reviews, Teagan. By the way, Lulu is the name of our yellow lab. She is a sweetheart but boy she loves to bark. 😊

Thanks, Pete. Ha. Lulu does everything but bark. Although the dog catcher next door has a Great Dane (among her 5 dogs) that barks for 3 hours every evening through dinnertime. So, it’s doubtful that Lulu will add that bad habit to her repertoire. Have a thriving Thursday. Hugs.
