Hello, everyone. I had been feeling as dark and hopeless as the bleak insides of an old coal mine. Certain that I wasn’t the only one who felt that way, I endeavored to add some fun and whimsy to life for as many people as I could — by hosting a Christmas in July event. After all, what could be more whimsical than Santa Clause in shorts and a tank top, holding a piña colada?

I was delighted when several bloggers joined in the fun and helped spread the playfulness. Participants are welcome to continue, but this is my closing post for the event.

Back to the coal mine… A recurring theme with my posts has become anti-bullying. It took the whimsy out of my sleigh when I saw this comment (a little farther down) to a blogger who so generously took up the challenge/blog-hop.

Maybe it’s just me, but I would never go to anyone’s blog (no matter what I thought of the topic) and leave a comment saying that it was sickening. Even with my background, I learned better behavior than that.

I won’t discuss the true meaning of Christmas or Easter here — which this person clearly doesn’t understand, but… Summertime Santa will leave a lump of coal in that person’s stocking. Hence the mine entrance doors!

At least it gave me a post for Thursday Doors. I’ve mentioned that I have C-PTSD problems. Frankly, that comment, was enough to drop me back into the bleak, dark mine. So many people simply live to suck all the fun out of everything. I’ll get over it. This time.
I hope you enjoyed the mine entrances and doors that are scattered throughout this post. Here’s one more.

Thanks to everyone who participated in
Christmas in July!
I’ve been flexible and “rules” are merely guidelines. While this is my closing post, as I said, anyone who wants to keep sharing the whimsy is welcome to carry on with the event for as long as they want.

If you have a Christmas in July post, don’t forget to leave a link to it in comments.

Whether it was through me or through other participants in Christmas in July, I hope some lightheartedness has been added to your month.

I live for your friendly comments — however, today I’ve closed comments. I’m giving myself a semi-break to work on writing projects. One of them is “Speak Daddy-O, Slang of the 1950s”. Heartfelt thanks for opening this door. Hugs!
