I’m at the No Facilities Bar

Hello, all. Welcome back.  Today I’m splitting myself.  I’m also at Dan Antion‘s No Facilities Bar.  Click here to join the party.  We’re having a great time.  I went to that virtual event in style.  In honor of my upcoming new serial, I had to have a vintage luxury car.  Today I’m “using” that prototype beauty above. (My poll for you to choose a form of transportation to be featured in the serial, ended in a tie between a vintage luxury car and a trolley.)

All of my many pots on the fire are bubbling away, but I’m still behind, and more than a little overwhelmed.  Even so, I hope to begin the new serial next weekend.  Although all things considered, that is not a promise.

Here’s a draft of the cover for the serial. That snazzy 1940s pantsuit will be purple in the final image.  I haven’t completely settled on the title.  Right now my working title for the serial “Adventures of the Armadillo.”  Since I can’t know where the story is going, it’s difficult to decide on the title.

Three Things

It will take plenty of random reader things to keep the new serial going.  If you haven’t already left a set of three unrelated (random) things, I encourage you to do so.  Just remember that World War II (officially) ended in 1945 — and things need to be appropriate to that time.  Be sure to leave your things in a comment.

I love to hear from you, so comments are encouraged.  Whether your remarks are to me or another commenter, keep it friendly.

    1. Hi, David. I hope your week is off to a great start. I do love making the book covers. That was an unanticipated added task to publishing “Dead of Winter” in a series of monthly novelettes. Happily I love making book covers! 😀 I have a couple of tweaks to make on the cover for the new blog serial. It’s going to be a wild, crazy ride. Stay safe and well. Hugs on the wing.

  1. You sure picked a GREAT car, wow!
Are we allowed to leave a second group of 3 things?
Heading over to Dan’s! Think I’ll go in style in my Cat’s Pyjamas! Wing hugs!
    Will visit Pat later!

  2. You have lots of frying pans on the fire, armadillos in the yard, and stories waiting for installments! I know that somehow you’ll pull it off. I’m happy to say, I’m caught up on Dead of Winter! Heading over to Dan’s.

    1. I hope you’ve been having a fun weekend. Woot! I hope you loved it, Diana. Last night I did my first cover concept for Journey 8. I usually have that before I do much of the editing, but not this time. I really need to catch up. Haha, now if the armadillos would just eat the weeds… It’s monsoon season here. The weather people said even that would be dry this year. But happily we’ve been getting some nice thunderstorms (and not the floods much of the state got). The tarnished lining is that it put the weeds on super-steroids. Stay safe. Hugs on the wing!

    1. Thanks, Ms. Frances. It helped to take this one task 3/4ths of the way off my plate. If all goes well, I will start the new serial next Saturday. I have at least one very zany character in my head. 😀 Stay safe and well. ❤ Hugs on the wing!

    1. Hi Priscilla. Ha! I didn’t think of the Batmobile, but you’re right. There were some spectacular concept cars in the 30s – 50s. I would love to see the inside of that one.
I only just saw your review of Journey 7, and I’m absolutely honored. I’m so happy you are part of the Journeys. Hugs on the wing!

    1. Hi Kamal. Thank you kindly. I’m glad you could visit. I’m not sure whether or not I could use them, with the Tennessee setting that will be a big part of the story, but just in case… Could you tell me 3 random things, related to India that would have existed in 1945? Stay safe and well. Hugs on the wing!

      1. Like we had the British who ruled over us at that time. Then the second is that during second world war Japan had come almost to Burma and would have entered india if it was not for the Americans to come into the war in the year 1944 and save us and rest of the world. The third thing is that Gandhi demanded that the British troops leave India and there were pretty bad uprisings and finally in 1947 india was declared a republic. These are some top stories during this time. You are always welcome dear Teagan. Stay blessed ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

        1. Thanks, Kamal — that could help with a setting. I like when my serials “travel.” Serendipity! I was just reading about African American soldiers stationed in India at that time. The nightclub they frequented there might let me add some music to the story too.

Sometimes the things I research but don’t use stick with me (wanting to have a story). Previously I was looking at Blues music in India, around the 1920s.
Anyhow, I appreciate you taking time for this well thought reply. ❤

          1. You are always welcome dear Teagan. Let me find out also about the blues music in the year 1920. Actually I can relate very well. My dad’s eldest brother was a great saxophonist and India had a craze of the blues during this time. He had changed his name to Rudy Cotton and he was the greatest saxophonist of his time.

            1. Oh wow! I love blues music. I wish I had kept the links to the 1920s blues there when I researched. It started with me looking for a setting (city, location) in the 1900-1920s timeframe. I sort of wandered around, so I can’t be specific. At any rate it was fascinating. Rudy Cotton… I must know more about him. I will have fun researching. Hugs.

              1. If u type his name in Google you will find all about him, Teagan and he was a Zoroastrian by birth and my dad’s eldest brother but during those times many foreign singers and their names were liked by our men so my uncle too took up the name of Rudy Cotton.

  3. I love the cover already, Teagan (and purple, yeah!), And congratulations on the reviews! They are keeping me quite busy during my break, but I hope to catch up on my reading soon, and I shouldn’t miss your new serial at all, things going well. Take care a good luck! (I promise I’m thinking about the three things)!
