Thriving Thursdays: Some will never find it. Will You?

Hello all.  It’s time for my once-a-month guest post at the tree-house of the Story Reading Ape, aka Chris Graham. On Thursdays I make a special point of helping people thrive, and that’s why I’ve gone to visit the Ape. (Please swing by and say hello — click here — because I had to disable comments here today, with work and National Novel Writing Month (#NaNoWriMo).

Sometimes we find things without looking for them.  However, I doubt we’ll ever find a thing we didn’t believe was there in the first place.  In my own life, I have found that I can’t achieve something that I’m not able to imagine.   Will instead of wish, imagine, believe…

“Those who don’t believe in magic will never find it…”   Roald Dahl

Some will never find it.  Will you?  I believe you will.

Wishing you a thriving Thursday,

Teagan

Thriving Thursdays: Busy? Maybe That’s a Good Thing

Thursday, October 19, 2017

Hello everyone.  Welcome to another Thriving Thursday.  I’m Teagan Ríordáin Geneviene here with a guest post for Chris Graham, the Story Reading Ape.  Click over to the “tree-house” and say hello — I’ve disabled comments here.

Thriving Thursdays: Busy? Maybe That’s a Good Thing

Lucille Ball and Bear

Too busy to be discouraged — but not too busy to thrive!  Here are some mindful words from my favorite redhead.

“One of the things I learned the hard way was that it doesn’t pay to get discouraged. Keeping busy and making optimism a way of life can restore you faith in yourself.” ― Lucille Ball

Update: I have to revise this with a shout-out to Dan Antion at No Facilities*.  Dan mentioned a fact I did not know about my favorite redhead having a connection to Star Trek. If you want to know more, click here*.

Thriving Thursdays: What’s More Important than Knowledge?

Thriving Thursdays: What’s More Important than Knowledge?

1956 Imagination SF comic

Hello all.  I’m Teagan Ríordáin Geneviene.  Huge thanks to Chris the Story Reading Ape, for hosting me. I welcome you to another Thriving Thursday at the tree-house.  I hope you’ll click over and visit us there.  (I’ve closed comments here.)

So, what’s more important than knowledge?  Maybe you think the answer to that question is “Nothing” – that nothing is more important than knowledge.  You might be right about that… but Einstein would disagree.

Imagination is more important than knowledge.
Knowledge is limited.
Imagination encircles the world…
~~Albert Einstein

I can’t help thinking that it is simply impossible to thrive without imagination.

Wishing you a thriving Thursday,

Teagan

Hello down there!  It’s me, Teagan Ríordáin Geneviene.  Yes, I’m up in the tree-house again.  Thanks to Chris the Story Reading Ape for hosting me for another Thriving Thursday.

You don’t necessarily have to choose.  Sometimes thriving and success are similar.  Take this quote from Dale Carnegie…

People rarely succeed unless they have fun in what they are doing.

I think the quote applies to thriving.  So even if only for a few minutes, today have some fun.

Wishing you a thriving Thursday,

Thriving Thursdays: It Could Be Raining

Welcome to another Thriving Thursday, everyone. I’m Teagan Ríordáin Geneviene here with a guest post for the Story Reading Ape.  Since Chris Graham is my host for these monthly posts, I have disabled comments here.  Please click over and say hello to the awesome Ape (click here).

Thriving Thursdays:  It Could Be Raining

It’s hard to thrive when things get tough. During difficult situations, it’s hard to even think of your self in a positive way.

When you’re trying so hard, and still not seeing that silver lining — and people begin a response with “At least it’s not…(whatever)” it doesn’t make you feel much better, does it?

However, it can help to remember that you aren’t alone.  Know there are people everywhere who are also trying to climb out of a hole of muck, or dig their way out of a pit of despair. They are trying to thrive.  Just like you.

(My apologies if this video is not available in your area, or if commercials were added.)

So keep on trying.

Lately, I think even trying to try — that qualifies as trying too.

Wishing you a thriving Thursday,

Teagan

Thriving Thursdays: We Rise

Hello everyone, I’m Teagan Ríordáin Geneviene, taking a moment to lift you up, to help you thrive.  What better place for me to do that than from the marvelous tree-house of the Story Reading Ape?

Thriving Thursdays:  We Rise

1928-december-life-balloon-man

Sometimes I feel de-motivated, denied, discounted, discombobulated, or any other de or dis that nobody enjoys.  However, there is one thing that always helps me change that feeling so that I can thrive — and that is motivating someone else.  If I work at lifting someone else’s spirits, or promoting them in some way, I find that I’ve also motivated myself.

We rise by lifting others…   Robert Ingersoll

I’m not able to return comments at both blogs today, so please visit here and say hello to the Ape and all the naughty chips at the tree-house.  We’d love to hear from you.

Wishing you a thriving Thursday.

Mega hugs,

Teagan

Thriving Thursdays: Fear or Courage?

Thriving Thursdays: Fear or Courage

Yeehaw!  I’m back at the Tree-house again with Chris the Story Reading Ape, for another Thriving Thursday!  This post is already live at his site.  He has a lot of other great stuff too, so be sure to visit my favorite Ape.

I’ve been down with a nasty sinus-allergy thing.  While I’m a long way from being 100%, I’m trying to climb back up into the saddle again.

I’m here to encourage you to thrive.

Today I’m not thinking about how daring the feat was.  Nor am I wondering how dangerous the situation was.  I’m not even considering what extraordinary valor may have been involved.

How brave is someone when they do something they don’t fear?  Are they braver than the person who trembles in terror?

Fear can hold us back.  But to overcome fear is to thrive.  If you see a person, daunted by distress, who dives into the fray despite their dread — then you have witnessed courage.

Courage is being scared to death — and saddling up anyway…  John Wayne

Due to a hectic workday, and to this relentless sinus/allergy problem I’m having, I’m closing comments here.  Please click over to the Ape’s tree-house and say hello. I’ll drop by as I’m able.  Click here.

Wishing you a thriving Thursday.

Mega hugs,

Teagan
