Thursday Doors to Enchantment

Thursday Doors is a blog event hosted by Dan Antion.  Since the motto of my adopted state is Land of Enchantment, and because I usually write about magical things, I call my “Doors” posts Doors to Enchantment.

Who knows what enchantment may be hidden behind a door?  This is true of the Gambit House series by S. R. (Sarah) Mallery.  The second book in that series is Hidden Spells.

Hidden Spells: Book #2 of the Gambit House Mystery Series

This award-winning witch/mystery series picks up seven years after Endangered Spells. The second witch book features the feisty, middle sister, Carly Goode. Tough on the outside, vulnerable on the inside, she’s determined to not only prove her magical prowess to her family and the world, she also has worked hard to forget how her ex-boyfriend, Josh, had inexplicably left her so long ago––without a trace.

But in a flash, things are flipped upside down. Suddenly, Josh is now back in town, having written an article about a fifty-year-old missing person case. And if that weren’t enough, a murdered woman’s body has just been found, rocking the little community of Wheelton Connecticut and causing everyone to wonder: How can two such different, separate cases cause so much havoc? But are they really different cases? And will Josh and Carly get back together?

Dead of Winter

In other news, this week Olga Núñez Miret posted her beautifully done reviews for Journey 11 The Sumelazon Escarpment, and Journey 12, Goddesses! I am truly honored.

I’m still working on the new ending for Dead of Winter.  At this point I think it’s safe to say that there will be two more Journeys.  Journey 13, The Harbor is coming soon.  Of course, if you aren’t part of the “Journeys” of my Dead of Winter series, it’s never too late to begin.

All the Journeys and all my books, Kindle and paperback are available at my Amazon Author Page.  The most recent novelette is Journey 12, Goddesses.  I’m still working on Journey 13.

  1. Thanks for introducing me to the Gambit House mystery series, Teagan. And for the update on Dead of Winter. I read Journey 11 on the plane ride home yesterday. I can tell that things are starting to build to the climax. On to Journey 12!

  2. “Doors to Enchantment” sound great to me.
Lovely write up you did about S. R. (Sarah) Mallery. From how you describe her books, I’m all spellbound.
Teagan, I enjoy the way you approach everything you write, with gusto.

I’ll have to go back, and visit Olga’s blog re: the 2 book reviews!.

    1. LOL. Thanks, Resa! When I was researching this series, I had bought a huge coffee table book on Spells. Used to all my historical fiction books,my hubby saw it and shook his head as he laughed. “Now that’s research you don’t usually do!”

    1. Cool beans, Janet! I tried to get myself to a few different parts of AZ, but that was before I removed federal jobs from my equation. My only regret is not having a mobile vet for Crystal. I love my new adopted home, but right now I’m really kicking myself hard about that part. Anyhow, thanks for dropping by. Hugs on the wing.

    1. I love the touch of whimsy in this series, Denise.
Yes, I’m working hard to finish up #13 — although I do leave it on a cliffhanger. I admit that I’m a little intimidated about the ending. That re-write has hung over my head for a decade. Although I just now had to stop and make a note for an inspired comment from Thyrus at the ending. 😀 Many thanks for reading and commenting. Special thanks for being part of the Journeys. ❤ Hugs on the wing.

  4. I’ve read some of SR Mallery’s books and loved them, but I have lost track of her most recent ones. Thanks, Teagan, for bringing us her new publication, and congratulations to the author. I’m sure it will do well.

    1. Yes, Teagan IS an awesome creative talent! And as for the cockatoo? Boy, did I enjoy learning about them — they are called the Teflon birds…they always want to be around their owners night and day! LOL
