Announcing — Dead of Winter: Journey 10, Pergesca

The October issue of Dead of Winter is here!

Welcome everyone! Thanks for your patience this month.  Today I announce the latest novelette in Dead of Winter.  It seems like only a few weeks ago that I started these Journeys.  Now we are on the tenth month. Wow.

We are nearing the conclusion of the Journeys. So, I’m letting this post be sort of a refresher.  If you didn’t notice, my blog banner image shows many of the most important characters of the series. Have you figured out which ones are who?

For those who have not yet joined the Journeys, I did an audio reading with the very first one.

Here’s a general post from early in the Journeys.  At this post by Rebecca Budd, there’s also a podcast (audio) of our discussion about the series.  I do another reading during our chat.

While I’m refreshing your memory, may I share more readings?  This one is done by amazing author, Roberta Eaton Cheadle. Here’s Robbie reading from Journey 4, The Old Road.  She also did one from Journey 5.  Robbie has all sorts of videos at her YouTube channel. I hope you’ll click over and follow her.

Dead of Winter: Journey 10, Pergesca

The Blurb

Dead of Winter: Journey 10, Pergesca resumes outside the Lost Library, where Hallgeir was faced with a decision that could impact the entire world.

Lucetius is gravely wounded in attempting to deliver a message.

Emlyn, Zasha, and Osabide are again separated from all their friends.  The Three must continue their journey without assistance or protection from the other travelers.  They have to reach the faraway city of Pergesca.  That is also the seat of power of the ancient Society of Deae Matres.  Will the companions eventually be reunited?

A vicious enemy returns, displaying unexpected strength.

An important character dies in this novelette.  The death of a character is a rare thing in my stories.

In other news, we’re halfway through October, but author Teri Polen’s festival of horror and suspense is still going strong.  Click over to “Bad Moon Rising” for a fun interview with a different author every day of this month!

Thanks for spending part of your day here. I’m grateful to everyone who is reading this story. If you aren’t already, I hope you’ll be part of the extraordinary, layered world of these Journeys.

I love to hear from you, so friendly comments are encouraged. Hugs on the wing!

    1. Hi Rudrani, it’s so nice to see you. I just rescued your comment from the Spam folder… I’m sorry if that has happened before. WordPress has made it very hard to find friends who accidently get sent there.
Thanks for your kind comment. Hugs on owl wings!

    1. Thanks very much, Michael. The different wants and needs of different readers was one of many reasons why I chose to make this very large book into a series. That way (I hope) people don’t get discouraged by one long, long book. They can finish segments (Journeys) as they like, at their own pace. I appreciate any time you put into reading them. Big hugs back to you.

I read Journey 3. Love, love love!!!!!
This is an excellent serial. You have a rich imagination.
I am a fan of Robbie’s Youtube channel. It’s wonderful listening to her read. You must be thrilled.
I’m looking forward to stopping by there later.
    Again, congrats, and cheers!

  3. How exciting, Teagan, and lovely to hear your voice. Your Journey 10 cover is beautiful as always. I’m starting Journey 6 soon, so I’m moving a bit slowly. But I’m so happy for you with such great success in this series. As someone who never read fantasy before, I’ve truly enjoyed this story and look forward to the journeys ahead. It was also great to “see” Robbie. Since she’s featuring me on her blog next month, I now have a visual. 🙂
A wonderful post on all accounts. 💞🎉

    1. Lauren, that’s the kind of comment I love to see — when someone who doesn’t usually read the genre of my story finds that they enjoy it.
Considering all you are doing, I think you are keeping up nicely to be on Journey 6. Thank you so very much. I look forward to reading your visit with Robbie. Hugs on the wing!

  4. Can’t wait to get Journey 10 and find it hard to believe 10 months have past. I tremble at t idea of somebody dying but hope it’s someone who seeks that release. Hugs on the wing. Have a great week.

  5. This is great news, Teagan! My copy will be on its way shortly, and I will be listening to the readings. 10 months into the journey of Journeys – it hardly seems possible. I’ll have to try and pick the characters once I get to a large screen. I hope you are having a good week.

  6. Congratulations, Teagan! I was hoping Journey 10 would be ready soon, as I planned to read both Journey 9 and 10 and then review the two, and now I can. I’m sorry to hear we’re getting to the end of the journey, but keen to see what happens next as well. Thanks and good luck!

  7. Such amazing women! Rebecca’s reading is the best I have heard from her, because what she is reading, is so wonderful and evocative, and she is so talented and creative, just like you. I am honored to know you both. Keep on keeping on~
