We rise by lifting others… Robert Ingersoll

Happy September!  Welcome to my sanctuary, one and all.  There’s a lot of good reading coming your way this autumn.  Today I’m celebrating two marvelous authors — Diana (D. Wallace Peach) and Sarah (S. R. Mallery).  These are two very different books, yet both are wonderful.

Diana brings us Liars and Thieves, which is the opening book of her new fantasy series: Unraveling the Veil.

Behind the Veil, the hordes of Chaos gather, eager to savage the world. But Kalann il Drakk, First of Chaos, is untroubled by the shimmering wall that holds his beasts at bay. For if he cannot cleanse the land of life, the races will do it for him. All he needs is a spark to light the fire.

I already have my copy and I can’t wait to lose myself in another of Diana’s stories.  She is a true master of world building.

Coming Soon — October 6th

Now we travel from high fantasy worlds, to breathtaking historical settings with Sarah.  Here’s a hint — this one is a little bit flapper.  S. R. Mallery brings us Enchanted Spells, which is part of a series of books — each by a different author! They’re about eight enchanted witches who attended the Witches Academy of Sorcery.

Even as a child, Gillian could perform magic far better than most people. Her spells swayed teachers, nabbing boyfriends was a piece of cake, and she had the added ability to foresee events, good or bad. But when one of her spells causes a near-death and a future forecast completely rocks her entire world, she steps away from magic––until her friend’s murder slams her back into the game…and straight into a detective’s arms.

What did I tell you?  They both sound great.  There’s a lot going on in September.  I still plan to release my dieselpunk novella, Hullaba Lulu by the end of this month too.

Wishing you an easy coast down the other side of this midweek hump.  Hugs on the wing!

    1. Thanks for the visit and comment, Jan. I’m delighted to share the post with Sarah, and with Teagan! There are so many new books circulating in WP right now. My tbr is going to need some dedicated reading time. Have an awesome day and Happy Reading. 🙂

      1. I feel the same about you…LOL Actually, this is the first time I’ve written about witches…even had a Spells book on our coffee table for several months! Who knew you could do a spell to see a decent parking space!

    1. Thanks so much for taking another look at the launch. This post from Teagan was a total surprise and made my day. I happy to share the stage with Sarah and look forward to Teagan’s latest too. You’re right about this community. It’s pretty darn awesome. :-D.

    2. Thanks, Rebecca. I wasn’t officially involved in either launch, because my Internet difficulties have made it impossible for me to keep up with everyone. But I wanted to at least do a little something here. Yes, it is indeed a wonderful community. Hugs on the wing!

  1. What an excitement this morning, Teagan. Congratulations to the new books from Sarah and Diana, and your up coming release of Hullaba Lulu. I would love to host your launch. Please email me if you would like me to help. 🙂

    1. Oh, Miriam that would be wonderful. I’m still not sure how I want to do it, but I could prepare something for you to post at your convenience. Can I reach you at the msn email inside “the guts” of my blog?
Have a lovely September. Hugs on the wing.

        1. Oh, thanks for correcting, Miriam! The one in the automatic email from my blog didn’t have the 7. (I’ve removed it from your reply here, for your security.) If I have any trouble, I’ll Facebook message you and ask about email again.
I don’t have a launch date, mostly because I’ve been trying to focus on my real novel in progress. (Hullaba Lulu was a blog serial and they haven’t garnered much attention in the past when I publish them.)
I *hope* to finish by Sept 20 (so I can include purchase info in a post Teri Polen is including her her October book fest — her deadline is Sept 20), but with my internet problems, that feels ambitious. Maybe we should plan on a day in October, after you return. Wishing you a delightful trip! More hugs.

        1. Oh, thanks, Brad. I love working with images. The new book cover is featured in the “posters” in the promo image. I know it doesn’t show up perfectly, but I didn’t want it to. I think it gives a recognizable hint with the flapper in her bright turquoise dress. Big hug right back.

    1. Thanks so much on all counts, Brad. There is creativity swirling around everywhere. Thanks for picking up Liars and Thieves. I hope you enjoy it. 🙂 And I love Teagan’s promo image too. So excited for another Teagan-read. Have a great start to your September, my friend. ❤

  2. What a delightful surprise, Teagan. You’re so kind to share my release, and I’m thrilled to share the stage with Sarah, another fantasy writer. Yay! And… is that the cover of Hullaba Lula? Gorgeous if it is. Thank you so much for sharing in the excitement of the launches and spreading the word. I just woke up and clearly its going to be a good day. Hugs, my dear friend. ❤ ❤ ❤

    1. It’s my pleasure, Diana. I really do admire your work. I started Liars and Thieves last night. The opening is marvelous — and I love the map.
Re Lulu, sort of… In my post last week I was just sharing my process. I didn’t mean it to be a “cover reveal” or a “pick the cover.” I wasn’t going to share the cover I re-did after that last week. However, I had a whimsical moment last evening and did that promo image. Since much of Hullaba Lulu takes place on a train, I was imagining her having advertisements all over a vintage train station. So the covers inside that image actually are the book cover. Hopefully they are too small for the critics to use as a platform to promote their own “expertise.” Erp… did that sound snarky? I must be channeling Lulu. LOL.
Thank you for reading, commenting, and for your constant encouragement and inspiration. Hugs on the wing!

      1. I love snark. I think the serial was happening when I was running around like a nut with parental stuff. I can’t wait to read it from end to end. And thank you for all your lovely support. I’m so tickled that you’re reading the book!! Yay. Hugs, my friend. ❤

      2. I love snark, too, Teagan! In my new cozy mystery series, I had a LOT of fun making the main character very snarky! I found I actually got a little snarkier in my own life as well…hmmm. LOL

  3. Wishing you all the beat for ‘Lulu’. I’ve followed D. Wallace Peach for quite a while. I’ll check into Ms. Mallery in a minute.
But first, I have to tell you, I think I really am aboard the Delta Pearl. Besides having the dream that invented Cal, I found myself writing ‘poppycock’ in the comments on two sites. Where did THAT come from?

    1. GP, you gave me a huge smile. Maybe you got snared into the “bonding ceremony” too. Let me know if visibly colored music starts coming out of your mouth. 😀
Yes, I have a great admiration for Diana and her writing. I think you might like Lulu. She’s snarky but good hearted… and there’s a train. 😉 Hugs on the wing!

  4. Thanks for the tip, Teagan. I’ve heard great things about Diana’s book and I’ve read a few of Sarah’s books and recommend them as well. Looking forward to Hullaba Lulu as well. And I’m with Robbie. You know you can count on my blog as well, any time. Good luck all!

        1. Diana, that is music to my ears! Once I figure out what to do, I’d like to email you… just some thing you could post at your convenience. I didn’t mean to make any unplanned work for today. I know how busy a launch can be. But I appreciate you working the comments. 🙂 More hugs.

    1. Thanks so much, Rae. Lulu is snarky, but good hearted. She and her friends get into all sorts of trouble (often due to Lulu’s clumsiness). They travel on a magical train to a lot of “sidways” places (rather creepy places, kind of spooky… in that way it is slightly similar to Atonement, TN).

    1. Yes, I agree — the covers are beautiful, Robbie. And heartfelt thanks about Lulu. Since I don’t plan to do a “real launch” I’d very much like to have some kind of post at some blogs. I will certainly email you about it. You are so very kind. Hugs on the wing!
