Thistledown — Midsummer Bedlam book is ready to fly your imagination to new heights!

Thistledown — Midsummer Bedlam by Teagan Ríordáin Geneviene (that’s me!) is a wildly whimsical tale of faeries.  However, lest you think you’re too old for that stuff, it also has a dark side.  For those who read the serial version here, I’ve added a little something to the ending that you haven’t seen.

To keep this book tour interesting, some of the bloggers helping share this launch will include individual character introductions for faeries named in their honor.  I hope you can visit them.  That said, let me tell you a little about the primary narrator of the story. (There are actually two, but if I tell you much about the other one, it could be a spoiler.)  Please allow me to introduce Bedlam Thunder.

Bedlam Thunder

Bedlam Thunder is a young misfit faery in the land of Thistledown.  She doesn’t fly very well at all.  She’s even afraid of heights!  Although, the most difficult thing for Bedlam is that she is a seer.  Bedlam doesn’t get happy fun visions that a faery fortune teller should see.  Instead, her visions are horrific.  Those visions put Bedlam and her friends on a quest to save their world.

Thistledown ― Midsummer Bedlam, by Teagan Ríordáin Geneviene is a wildly whimsical tale of faeries. It was originally written for a grownup audience, but it is suitable for children ages eight and over.

Thistledown is a world of color and light. It has faeries, hummingbirds, and ancient books of magic. Bedlam Thunder is a misfit faery who is afraid of heights. She is also a seer who has terrible visions of a parallel world devoid of color and brightness. The hate and darkness of that colorless world seeps into Thistledown. Will Bedlam and her friends be able to save their home?

Thistledown ― Midsummer Bedlam, with its radiant creatures and faeries will lift your imagination to new heights.

Contest Winner

In pre-launch posts, I announced that I’m giving away an autographed paperback copy of Thistledown — Midsummer Bedlam, along with the choice of a plush hummingbird toy or a Creative Haven fairy coloring book.

I number the comments, and then use an online random number generator.  That first prise goes to Enchanted Cat.  Cat, I will get your email from the “innards” of this blog and contact you for your mailing address.  By the way everyone, Cat chose the plushie hummingbird.  Somehow it’s no surprise that a “cat” would go for a bird.

Wait, that’s not all!  I did a second drawing so I could give away a coloring book and a Kindle copy of Thistledown.  (I absolutely love the Creative Haven coloring books.)  This second prize goes to Terri Polen at Books and Such.  Terri, I will contact you to get your email address to send the coloring book and the Kindle copy of Thistledown (these will come to you direct from Amazon).

Thanks to everyone who came out to play with the faery names and pre-launch comments.  I appreciate your visit and support today as well.

Hugs on the wing!

    1. My pleasure, Teri. I know you followed the serial, but I added a little to the very end. I don’t know if you’ve ever used adult coloring books, but I like to color for about half an hour before I go to sleep — I’m such an insomniac, and it helps relax me. Both are on their way. Hugs on the wing!

  1. Congratulations on the launch of the new book, Teagan. It’s a wonderful read, and I know it’s going to do very well. It’s lovely to know that the story of Bedlam Thunder is finally in print so that many new eyes can read her adventure.
    Season’s Greetings to you.
    Hugs.

  2. OMG! It was so cold that I didn’t want to get out of bed, but I’m so glad I got online. Thank you, Teagan! I follow you on Amazon, so they sent an email when you published Thistledown. I already have it on my Kindle. But I can’t wait to get the signed paperback. Awesome! I’ll send the info you asked for. Hugs on the purr!
