Welcome to Hidebound Hump Day, my chuckaboos! If you are looking for the latest installment of the fantasy, “The Delta Pearl,” click here for Chapter 2 – Fret.

Most of you weren’t too excited about the “cock-a-leekie soup” that turned up in the last episode. However, several were downright enthuzimuzzy! At least one reader asked for a recipe.  With that in mind, I’m doing a post with recipes of some Victorian foods you might find on the menu in the Delta Pearl’s dining room.  All aboard!

    1. It’s good to see you, Rob. I love it too. That’s the down side of living in the desert. It’s hard to get good seafood — or really good produce. At least not good by southeast standards.
We had a real gully washer here this afternoon. I had legitimate concerns that my house might get flooded. Thankfully the water stopped a few feet away from my front door. Climate change…

    1. Hi Deborah. I thought it made a nice menu for an entire summer day. (Although Victorian menus I’ve researched would likely offer all that and more for one dinner…) Thanks for visiting, my chuckaboo. Hugs!

    1. How cool, John! What an interesting tidbit about you. I liked that photo too. I couldn’t find an attractive (free) one of the prepared egg cups. Have an easy coast down the other side of the midweek hump, my chuckaboo! Hugs on Araucana wings.

    1. It’s good to see you, GP. Some of those links have extensive information. I think you’ll enjoy browsing them. This winter I may well try my hand at that soup. Soups are about the only thing I’m good at cooking, but I don’t enjoy the process until the weather cools. Have an easy coast down the other side of the midweek hump! Hugs.
