Another Bloomin’ Cover Reveal — But this time it’s mine!

Friday, October 5, 2018

I debated when to run this post.  I worried that it wouldn’t be seen between my serial posts — so I scheduled it as my Saturday post. Then I worried that you’d lose track of Copper, the Alchemist, and the Woman in Trousers…

Have I ever mentioned that Springsteen was born to run, Steppenwolf was born to be wild, and I… well, I was born to worry?  The short story is I changed my mind this morning and decided to post the cover reveal now!

First came Atonement, Tennessee — my debut novel.  For years, as time, life, and my job permitted (which wasn’t nearly often enough) I worked on the creation of a sequel.  Eventually, I started my editing process.  That was made more difficult because of all those years of start and stop writing.  And then, the editing was almost as stop-n-go as the writing.  (I could have had my own convenience store. Snort!)

I’ve talked about book-2 for so long that it’s embarrassing.  I feel like I’m going out on a flower laden limb by (again) saying that I will release the book soon.  Even so, I present to you, the cover of Atonement in Bloom.

A Review!

The inimitable Donna Parker received an advance copy of “Bloom” and did a review here.  Donna did some fabulous casting for a movie version.  I loved her choices of actors.  Be sure to visit her post.

The book launch will be soon.  I’m aiming for October 20th, if everything goes well with the publication process.  However, you know me — I have to be different.  It won’t be your everyday book launch.  It’s going to be a blog party bus!

Yes, there are some of the characters from my quirky town of Atonement, TN already on the bus.  Lilith the cat is your driver, and the otherworldly glowing pigs, Deme and Honeybell are hostesses.  If you want to participate in this Party Bus Book Launch let me know by October 13th, because I need to add you to the story

Atonement Blog Party Bus Loaded

What do I mean? If you want to be mentioned in the blog party (along with your link), I’m asking you to promote the book launch from your blog in return.  I can send you an HTML file of the entire post, or you can reblog it.  Any takers?

Update: Again… if you want to be featured on the party bus, you must leave me a link (to what you want to show) in your comment.  In return, I ask that you please reblog my launch (party bus) post — or let me know you can work with an HTML post and I will send you the entire post.

The party bus/launch will go live October 20.  Feel free to post that day, or any day afterward.

I announced this on Facebook earlier. Thanks to Carol Taylor, Jacquie BiggarValentina Cirasola,  Gerlinde de Broekertand Barb Taub, who have already offered to share the party bus launch.  Special thanks to Dan Antion who will promote the cover reveal at his place, with very short notice.  If I have enough time I’ll make an Atonement TN bookstore, so leave a link to a picture of your book.

The party bus will be making stops all around the town as we pick up readers and bloggers.  So if you want to participate in this off-the-wall book launch, then have your links ready. Remember, I need them by October 13th.

Roll on party bus!  Mega hugs!

    1. Hi Patty. If you just reblog the “party bus” on Saturday, that would be wonderful.
Send me a link to a launch or cover reveal post of your own book and I will try to add it to the “book fair” part of the post. Welcome aboard!

              1. I saw that a few minutes ago.

I’m afraid I fell behind in email and notifications last evening.

I got caught up in a book I’m reading and lost all track of time. It’s one of my downfalls to be sure I love to read.

    1. Thank you dear Donna. Resharing is now a word, and my favorite one!
My day was turned on its end when Crystal fell and hurt her leg. But amazingly she is okay now. Sore but no longer limping.
Although when I should be doing my end of day routine (I have to turn off electronics by 7 if I want to go to sleep at a reasonable hour for getting up at 4AM… and I haven’t even had dinner. What a day…
But because of your generosity, it ends well. Mega hugs right back!

Yes… I did my big reveal and then covered it up with too many spontaneous posts…
That’s terrific! Which book do you want me to add to the “Atonement TN Book Fair?” Hugs!

  3. Beautiful cover, Teagan. I’m going to be traveling and distracted during your launch party. But I’d love to have you on my blog! I’ll send an email with a question to go along with my review if you’re interested. Email on it’s way in minutes. Congrats!

  4. Yikes! I contacted you after reading this but forgot to tell you how much I like the cover. Great job!

Save me a seat on the bus. If necessary, I’m available to brush the driver (I come highly recommend by MuMu).

    1. LOL, heartfelt thanks for making me smile, Dan. I didn’t get up in a “good place.”
(You know… Crystal has bee shedding like crazy (speaking of brushing), but it’s way warmer than normal here.)
Thanks about the cover. I’m glad to hear it. I made about ten concepts before I settled on this one. It was hard to choose which element to include. I really wanted to add Lilith with the blue rose… but it was too busy. The red tulips (hopefully) lead into the cover, just as they lead Ralda to something important in the story.
Head scratches to MuMu, MiMi, and Maddie. Hugs.

    1. Hi Kirt, that’s wonderful! Could you choose a flower post or print I can share with a link to your Wall Gallery? It could be anything, but if it helps you choose, some of the flowers that take center stage in the novel are white chrysanthemums, red tulips (particularly), and of course, the blue rose of the impossible. Heartfelt thanks, my friend. Hugs.

      1. Hi Teagan,
You know you can’t give new technology to old farts. I know my website can do a post using HTML and it most likely is very simple to do. However, I haven’t learned it yet. I create my post in Word and then paste them in. Word docs or pdf would work best. If it included images you want to use, I think you have to send them separately. I’m sorry if I’m making this difficult.
