Celebrating Post No. 500!
Your eyes do not deceive you. Yes, you’ve seen this recently. I meant to keep an eye out for what post would be my 500th post… Naturally, when it finally came up, I had forgotten. So here it is/was. Suitably (since I’ve felt unsettled for so long) it’s about “I don’t know!” 😀
I just wanted to do a little happy dance.
I’ll be back with a Saturday post. Hugs!

Welcome to my sanctuary — an oasis free of politics, religion, and the judgments that often go with both. It’s my safe haven where we can relax in the comfort and encouragement of each other’s presence — free of bullies and passive aggressive princesses. I’m allowing certain “punks.” That’s my prerogative as proprietress and bouncer.
Not that kind of bouncer… Anyhow, since we’re in my sanctuary, I don’t mind telling you that I’m a continuous learner. I have to be, because there are so many things I don’t know about.
After I started writing Copper, the Alchemist, and the Woman in Trousers back in 2015, I realized that I was writing steampunk. (See episode 1 of that serial here.) So I had to learn about that genre.

Later I ran into blogger/author Sarah Zama and found that all sorts of “punk” existed. …

Thanks, Teri. Since I typically only post twice a week, it has taken me five years to reach that little milestone. I have to celebrate what I call “small victories” to encourage myself. I appreciate you visiting. Hugs!

Congratulations on #500 Teagan!!
… and thanks for the post on the different versions of punk. I admit I didn’t have a clue what it really meant although I had read references to steampunk and diesel punk on numerous occasions. Lulu however is still my favourite 🙂
Happy Sunday and hope your’s is a good one!!

Thanks Dan. That helps me feel validated.
It’s not much for some folks, but I call it a small victory. Those small victories are ways for me to encourage myself.
Hugs!

Oh you surprised me about the Tennessee whiskey. I didn’t realize it was world famous. 😀 I never liked whiskey though… except in Lynchburg Lemonade — now that’s a tasty cocktail! Yummy. Thanks very much, Michael. Hugs!

Happy 500 posts, Teagan! I hope you do NOT get a 500 year flood, or snow storm before the year is out!

Congratulations. 500 is a good number. Makes me think of 500 year floods for some reason. I celebrated my 666th post on WP back in 2013. I found the closest address to 666 old Highway 66 for the photo of the day. The Address doesn’t exist, but El Ray Theater’s address was close enough for rock and roll.

Ha! Well, Tim, we might be headed for 500 year floods on this coast. Yesterday there was a weather warning on my phone that I had never seen before “Falling Trees Alert.” The ground is so saturated that it can’t support a lot of the big trees.
I expect that 666th post gave you a chuckle. Too bad there wasn’t an exact address, but the theater being close is cool. TGIF hugs!

In 2007 I was in Virginia training NPS staff on software we wrote from them. They took us out to an area where there had been a lot of rain and several large trees had simply toppled over in the saturated soil. The roots stood 8, 10, 12 feet high with the trees lying on their sides.

Yep! It’s a worrisome thought once you’ve seen something like that. There’s one right out front that has always been at an angle… but it sure seems to be a lower, sharper angle now. I was looking at it this morning, and the roots that are above ground, but just couldn’t tell anything. One thing I was sure of though was that if it goes it will take the sidewalk with it.
Fortunately it’s leaning over the road, not the building… but people have to park there… (There isn’t enough parking.) I parked as far away from a tree as I could manage, but they’re so big. I think that particular one is the only real hazard though. Fingers crossed.

Fallen trees do make short work of cars. I see there is a lot of serious flooding in Virginia right now.
