Cover Reveal! Murder at the Bijou – Three Ingredients-I

Bijou front only 2

Ta-dah!  I’ve finally finished the technical aspects of book-izing the second of my blog serials.

About the Novel

Murder at the Bijou – Three Ingredients-I is the second of my “three things” style of blog serials.  As with the first serial, The Three Things Serial, a Little 1920s Story, it was a spontaneously written (“pantser”) serial.  Everything in it — characters, setting, plot, was driven by things left by readers of the blog, episode by episode.  However, this time the things were “ingredients” since it is a culinary mystery!

Pip returns as narrator.  She has new friends for this adventure, as she has been “sentenced” to live with her grandmother until she learns to become a passable cook.  As you can imagine, that does not sit well with our flapper. (Yes, I still need to write a blurb…)

Book Launch?

My “real job” doesn’t allow me time for marketing or promotions.  I limit that to this blog.  So you don’t see much fanfare with my books.  However, I want to ask…

Is anyone interested in hosting me for a book launch post?

If so, please leave a comment to let me know.  I’ll write something to be posted at your blog.  Any takers?

See you Friday, or whenever you can visit this weekend, for the next episode of the current serial, Thistledown – Midsummer Bedlam. Until then, hugs on the wing!

      1. For process, not so much, just let me know what you’d like to talk about in your post and I’ll say “go for it” and you’ll say “great” and it’ll come together 😉 You can message me on FB or email when ready xx

    1. Ha! I doubt that I could lend “class” to anything. And you do have a fine blog already.
Thanks very much, Dan. I haven’t gotten any farther with preparations this weekend. However, it’s my “short” weekend, so that is not unexpected. I’ll be sure to let you know when it’s ready to roll. You’re the cat’s pajamas.

  1. You have a lot of good writers and reviewers who are good at this sort of thing willing to help! I’m only a once a month blog with a fixed format, but I am always happy to give your site a shout out as I have done before.

  2. Hi Teagan. I’m coming in a little late here. I saw this yesterday, but things were a bit wild at the office, then I got home and discoveried I owned a cattle ramp. I’d be happy to help with your book launch. I’ve posted book reviews, as you know, but I not sure what all needs to go into a book launch. So just let me know what I need to do. Tim

    1. That’s wonderful Tim — thank you! I kind of did this post on a whim. I was excited to finally have all the formatting and proofing finished — especially after being in an “almost” state for months.
You really don’t have to do much of anything. And to be done whenever you’re ready. I don’t know how your blog works, but I make HTML files to make it easy for anyone who knows how to use them. However, I can also send a Word document… basically whatever format you want. (Michael asked for a PDF for an online mag — I can do that too.)
I’ll let you know when it’s all ready to roll. Hugs on the wing!

      1. The photo side is a bit limited, since it’s more photo specific, but I could do the main content on the WP side with a link to WP from the photo side (opposite of what I do now). That might be the best route anyway.

        1. Any way you want to handle it is fine with me, Tim. Since I don’t feel I’m doing anything about “book marketing or promoting” properly, I don’t feel any need to be controlling — particularly with people I trust. I’m working on a sort of blurb to give everyone, and a couple of pictures. You can post them however you want. Cheers!

    1. Oh Kathryn, I completely understand. You’re welcome at the party. 😀 I appreciate the feedback on the cover. I did put a lot of thought and effort into it. (Even though that part is the most fun!) TGIF and hugs.

  3. Dear Teagan. A great cover as usual. I’d love to offer you my blog (anytime after next week as I’m finishing with the marking and sorting out for the course). Thinking of Crystal and you. Big hugs.

    1. Huge thanks, Olga. I know you have a ton of things going on. It will certainly take me more than a week to be ready. Then, whatever and whenever you could post is great with me.
Crystal has been doing very well the past few days. Trying to take it one day at a time, as long as she feels good. Though I admit to feeling in a sad limbo. The new serial and now, getting close to releasing this book are good distractions for me.
Now, back to Mordor! TGIF! Hugs.

      1. Thank you, and its really a great cover design. “book launch post”? If you are interested in, we can put the posting pdf-formatted to issuu.com/smde, or inside our next issue of DEEZ, but this micro mag is only in german language. 😉 But if its useful. Michael.

        1. Thanks very much, Michael. I really enjoy making my covers!
That’s kind of you about the magazine. I’m happy to have that information. If I get the book translated, I will be sure to let you know.
          Have a wonderful evening. Hugs.

    1. Thanks so very much Suzanne. I put a lot of thought (not to mention effort) into designing that cover, deciding how to make the different bookized serials coordinate… Yay! I’m so glad you’re in! You’re fantastic! Hugs on the wing!

    1. You are wonderful, Annette! No date yet. Life has given me so many postponements with finishing this — when I thought I was nearly done. (As you can see in my reply to Donna below.) Thank you so very much! mega hugs.

  4. I wish I was blogging right now, Teagan, but I don’t think I can do anything until late August, more likely September. When do you think your launch will be and can I help when I come back? You know I love shouting out to the world your wonderfulness!!!
    Mega booky Bijou hugs xoxox

    1. Dear Donna, no worries at all. Your encouragement and comments are huge to me. Since I don’t even halfway do the promotions and marketing, I see it as more of a “promotion” than a real launch. So any time you are ready to blog, and if you want to do a post, just let me know and I’ll send you an HTML file. Totally relaxed.

Right now, my head is still full of coping with Crystal’s… well you know. My heart is still breaking with that. So I hesitate to commit to a “launch” date. However, I wanted to put out feelers to see if anyone was interested in participating.
I think I have everything ready for Kindle and CreateSpace. But it is not up yet for me to proof it there. Sorry to give you such a babbling reply. Huge hugs to you my friend.

      1. It has actually inspired me and for the first time in awhile I actually wrote some bloggy stuff. Let me know whatever you need and big hugs to you and Crystal. xoxox
Love the cover and can’t wait for the words to go with it.
Love your thoughtful reply (not babbling at all and someone with my meandering skills would know).
        Mega jazzy hugs xoxo

        1. LOL — meandering skills. If you meander, it is as artfully done as the rest of your words. Hearing that I’ve inspired you in any way is the highlight of my week.
I appreciate your feedback about the cover. There will always be the voice in my head that says anything I did myself can’t be good enough. (Yes, even at my age, I can’t overcome all of my upbringing.) So double, no triple thanks. Mega hugs right back. 🙂
