Mocha Dacquoise Cake And The Winners Of the Giveaway

“Hey Sheba! Whatcha got there? A cookbook? Applesauce! You could use one.  Hold on… is that a cookbook for salads?  Are you sure you can manage a salad without burning it?”

“Ha!  Pip, I hope you realize that you get your cooking skills (or the lack thereof) from me.  Besides, I happen to have won this book over at Suzanne’s blog, A Pug in the Kitchen.” (Click here.)

“Oh, I remember visiting there with some of my stories.  She’s an amazing chef, and her blog is the berries!  Jeepers, that cookbook really is the cat’s pajamas — look at all those color photos.”

“Yes, Pip. Food 52 Mighty Salads is a gorgeous book.  But look at this post from Suzanne. Isn’t that the most delicious, sophisticated dessert you’ve ever seen?  Pip?  Hey Pip! Where’d you go?”

Well, I think our flapper is on her way to Brooklyn.  So click on over and check out Suzanne’s post.

  1. OMG – this is a mouth watering episode….and a huge congrats for winning the cookbook. I can only imagine that the smells in your apartment of banking must be glorious….:) I hope that you are enjoying a lovely weekend, and that your neighbours are behaving themselves! I send you magical hummingbirds and love for the wee ahead. Janet 🙂 xxx

    1. It is such a pleasure to see you, Janet. Suzanne up in Brooklyn gets the credit; she is the baker. But I haven’t burned a salad yet! 😀 Even though I actually have burned water… o_O
LOL, Janet, do you know why I don’t bake any more? It’s ridiculous, I know, but I’m so over-sensitive to noise that I can’t stand the alarm/timer that goes off on the oven when a temperature is reached, or whatever other reasons. I envy people with antique stoves that don’t have alarms. Apparently stoves are not made without them made any more.
The neighbors actually are behaving for once. 😀 Although at 4 AM I awoke to the sound of numerous sirens going down streets nearby. It went on for longer than ever. I was honestly afraid there was something of 9-11 proportions going on. However, it is Sunday, and near impossible to get news that is happening immediately. It was frightening. However three hours later, all still appears to be well. I haven’t seen any radiation zombies or anything. 😉 Hummingbird hugs, dear friend.

      1. I must have an antiuque stove because there are no alarms 🙂 The worse noise I experience is when planes go overhead. Every now and then we are in the flight path…Heathrow not that far away……but for the most part it’s pretty quiet here…which I am so grateful for because like you, I am noise sensitive. I haven’t heard anything on the news about melt down in DC and so I think you are OK…:) xxx

    1. LOL, I’m with you Christy. At this point in my life, I’d rather watch someone on TV cook! I used to enjoy cooking, and wasn’t half bad. But things, needs, and wants change.
I do love salads though, so new ideas for them are great. Thanks very much for visiting, and for posting on LinkedIn. Mega hugs.

    1. LOL, I’m tickled that you enjoyed Pip’s reaction, Suzanne. I really had no idea the book would be as beautiful as it is; one color photo after another. It inspires me toward healthful food. Wishing you a lovely Mother’s Day, my friend. Mega hugs.

    1. Thank you Kathryn. It’s the highlight of my spring. I love salads. (Bear in mind that they aren’t always healthful in my hands though!) This is a real treat for me.
Keep us posted on your new adventures! I realize how much paperwork there is. So wishing you smooth sailing through it. Mega hugs.
