Copper, the Alchemist, & the Woman in Trousers: Derailed

Train Derailment people

Dear Reader,

The steam locomotive to the Victorian Era is derailed.

Kermit dont walk mile shoes

I’d have to resurrect Tolstoy to adequately explain why…

Pity train joke

Computer troubles galore are the least of the problems…

  1. Sorry to hear about your troubles. No a/c is bad enough. Glad it’s working again.
Love the pictures of the locomotive. Almost fell off my chair wondering what’s going on in the story to cause such a crash! 😀
I almost fainted when my laptop wouldn’t startup after Windows 10 and it’s n.e.w. Are these headaches progress. Bleh. Look forward to next week. Need my fix, but don’t make yourself crazy. Will still love you anyway. ❤

    1. PS… It is the second time in the last few days I can not add likes on WordPress… Has it ever happened to you?… Hence, I´ll be back to leave my like later on… (How knows?)… 💦

      1. Hi Aquileana. It’s so nice to see you. Hugs and good wishes gladly accepted and put to motivating use! I didn’t have the problem with the “likes” lately. However, I have experienced that several times when working from another computer (& in another location, like work). I mostly enjoy using WordPress, but it does seem to be given to random “gremlins” and other issues.
Thanks very much for taking time to visit and comment. Have a wonder-filled week. Hugs! 🙂

  2. Teagan, I’ll be at the station, so don’t worry about getting derailed right now. I’m sure your train will be back on track soon. Computer issues are enough to bring out my darkest side. You seem to be handling it better than I do. Shrieking, pulling hair, swearing, crying, and, yes, screaming at the tech who is only trying to help have been some of my more minor fits over computer woes. Hope all is back up and running and you get caught up on everything soon. Big hugs!

    1. LOL. You pretty much described what was going on here, Michelle. 😀 My patience with the computer issue was even shorter with the air conditioner being on the fritz in the middle of August… All is well though. Thanks for the encouraging words. Mega hugs! 🙂

        1. Oooh yeah — that would be bad. It does give one a sense of gratitude for the “simple things.” I never realized how much I used my kitchen sink until I found myself without it for a week… Here’s to a great week ahead. Cheers!

  3. I’m sorry to hear about your troubles, but understand completely, Teagan, I’ve been derailed for a few days by computer troubles and let’s be honest, life in general, so I’m sending you huge megahugs and as always will be waiting at the station whenever the train leaves – I’ll always be on board.
Hope this week is kinder to you, sweetie. All the best! 🙂

Megahugs, sweetie, maybe the universe is testing us (oh-oh, I don’t always do well on tests!). 😉

    1. Hi Janet. Thanks so much for dropping in. Well, there wasn’t much of a break but I think everything is back in order now. Though it would be nice to do a deep cleanse of my mental palette — I love that concept. ❤ Have a wonder-filled week. Hugs! 🙂

      1. I have to totally cleanse my mental palette at least four times a year:) Otherwise all the old paint builds up….and I start not to be able to see the forest for the trees….have a lovely Monday and week ahead. Janet. xx

    1. LOL, I was thinking similar thoughts about the Metro Rail in DC! They had another big derailment the other day (thankfully no one was killed). The kicker is they knew about the problem. Then they made a big deal over giving hundreds of people $4 vouchers… as if that compensated them for missing a day of work and whatever emergency means they had to arrange to get there. Another kicker that.
I’m still catching up with your blog. Looking forward to all the fun at the Smorgasbord. Mega hugs!

  5. Look forward to boarding the train next weekend, Teagan. I’ve heard about Windows 10 and the problems it seems to be causing. Thank goodness I’m an iMac user.
See you next weekend but, in the meantime, please do call in for afternoon tea if you are passing 🙂 The kettle is always on here in my house.

    1. Hey Hugh. Thanks for visiting. I suspect that Windows 10 does okay if you have Windows 9… But I’d steer clear if anyone’s current version is older than that.
See you for tea shortly! Mega hugs.

  6. Hey Melinda! Thanks so much for the supportive comment. Everything seems to be fixed now (except work, but that’s a dystopian morality [or the lack thereof] tale for another day, Ha!) The locomotive is back on track for next weekend. I’ll save you a seat on the train next weekend. Hugs

  7. Teagan, Loved the train wreck beginning, hoping it was techy things and not you! Phew! A creative metaphor! Know computer frustration well. Hope all gets “back on track” soon. Meanwhile I have last week’s serial to read, still red flagged! Tons of hugs & calming thoughts! Christine

    1. Dear Christine, thank you so much. I’m fine. Yeah… old and new computers, air conditioner, coworkers, and more with the air conditioner, and more with a computer. It was quite a week. All’s finally well now.. well, at least with the new computer and the air conditioner. LOL Mega hugs my friend.

        1. Thanks Kirt. I don’t want to jinx myself, but I think I’ve gotten the issues with the new computer figured out!!! Yay and Woot! However, the old one — after Windows 10, there seems to be no help for it at all. (Not much of a concern there, at least.)
And the air conditioner is still working (after last evening’s latest repair). All is finally well. 🙂

          1. In our world…..we would be in major hurt without AC. We have a friend who just about threw their pic out the window with the windows 10 issue! We’re Mac and glad we are!!! Have a great rest of the weekend!

            1. You too, my friend. In fairness, my old computer’s version of Windows was several versions behind. A friend said the problem preventing me from even starting the computer in “safe mode” was likely an incompatibility with the video driver. But still — they should have a huge warning that W10 might not be compatible… Sunday will be sublime! 😀

    1. Hi Andrea. Thanks so much for taking a moment to comment. I’m fine. Just lots of unexpected chores after a rough week. Broken air conditioner all week, (but happily fixed and cool now), and the usual workplace challenges didn’t allow me enough time to work on the serial. Then computer problems… As they used to say about this kind of situation, where I was raised — “It’s all good!” Hugs. ❤ 🙂

  8. Well I am a little relieved I have some catching up to do. I hope hope everything gets back on track soon and that you are ok. In the meantime I think I have a couple of episodes to read, trying to get back on track myself.

    1. Oooo… Thank you John — that sounds delicious! 😀 ❤
Now that my air conditioner is fixed after a week of being out, that helps enormously. But other things require my time… I'd rather spend it here. Everything is fine. Just not enough time for it all. Mega hugs!

    1. Thank you Christoph. The serial isn’t here this weekend, but there’s really no break — LOL just like the train! Ha! Lots of computer work to do. If you see a little blue box, repeatedly enticing you with a free upgrade to Windows 10… Don’t. Just don’t.
      😀 Mega hugs!

  9. May all of your issues get resolved satisfactorily, pronto (and not just because it is torture waiting for the next episode). BTW, I adore the photo of the train that flew out of the station. I have always wondered how that happened…

  10. Phew – when I saw the title I thought something had gone terribly wrong for our characters. This is sad, but you’re entitled to a week off – now and then (don’t make it a habit) – just keep our peeps in the Victorian era safe and sound. Have a great weekend Teagan.
