First, to all of you in the USA…
Happy Thanksgiving!
Now, back to NaNoWriMo. It’s all about improving my skills as a writer. That’s my relationship with National Novel Writing Month.
I’m always trying to find a way to get better as a writer. Every time I sit down and open a story/file, I think “I’ve got to get better.”
And yes… I have another song to inspire me. I love blues. I repeatedly go back to an old version of “Stormy Monday” that Eric Clapton did back in the days of Cream… But today I’m not indulging myself in that tune — because I’ve got to get better and…
And I am a big Robert Cray fan. Thanks again for the soundtrack, Teagan! 🙂

I like blues as well. I couldn’t tell you who sang what, but when I have the house to myself, I put the blues channel on. Enjoy your weekend.

Thanks for taking time to comment RC. I’m glad that you finally got to have some “down time” this Thanksgiving. I know you really put your heart into all the cooking. 🙂

Ha! David you are far too kind. Thank you so much.
As for Cream, granted I was a kid when they were around. But I had an… unusual childhood.
Okay — let’s just say it — I was a weird kid.
I was never without my radio. Plus, living in a very small, rural town, we got everything late — TV shows, fashions, and music. It seemed like things were “old” for two years before they arrived in that little town.
I was raised by the television set, and absorbed all the social messages and drank in the fashions. (Much to the dismay of the adults around me! 🙂 )
The music of the late 60’s and early 70’s remains my favorite.
Even though I didn’t “discover” blues until this decade, the bass part in that old version of Stormy Monday mesmerizes me.
Have a wonderful weekend,

Thank you Teagan, I wish you the same. I’m a fan of the Blues too but people like Muddy Waters, Howlin’ Wolf etc. The Stones had a lot of that influence way back when. The music in my life is mainly the 60’s ( heavy on the Mama’s and Papa’s and I loved The Turtles) and then the 80’s when I thought groups like Talk Talk and Simple Minds were fantastic and ABC and the Romantics were pretty good too. I do have eclectic tastes though.

It’s wonderful that there is so much good music out there.
The main thing is for everyone to keep some kind of song in their hearts. 🙂

Teagan, how can you possibly know about Cream? Has someone served you a Strange Brew? I think NaNo can help you hone your writing skills but it can’t make you a writer. It needs a real skill set and a great imagination to be a writer and you already have those.
